Ellesmere College celebrates 97 per cent A-level pass rate
Of the 2025 cohort, 41 per cent of grades awarded were A*, A, or B, with girls achieving 62.5 per cent of the top grades.
Headmaster Mrs Pritt-Roberts said: "My heartfelt congratulations to all our students.
"These results are a testament to their hard work and determination, to the diligence of their teachers and the constant support of parents.
"These pleasing A-level results follow the excellent results in July for IB Diploma and BTEC.
"The breadth of courses and destinations that our students move onto is a particular point to celebrate, as an outworking of being a school with a global focus and a commitment to the high-performance learning (HPL) philosophy."
Among the high achievers, Thomas from Anglesey earned three A*s in maths, further maths, and physics, and will now study aerospace engineering at the University of Bath.
Alberto from Wolverhampton, an elite swimmer, secured three As and a B in computer studies, maths, further maths, and physics, along with an A* in his Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
He will study computer science and mathematics at Durham University.
Anna who is from Ellesmere, also an elite swimmer, achieved two A* equivalent distinctions in her BTEC diploma and a B in A-level psychology, giving her A*A*B.
She will study criminology at Loughborough University.
Josh, also from Ellesmere, achieved As in maths, further maths, and physics, and a B in computer science.
He will go on to study computer science at the University of Southampton.
Shinil from Chester earned A*s in chemistry and maths and a B in economics.
He will take up a place at the University of Liverpool to study finance and data analytics.
Bonnie who is from Chorley achieved As in English literature and German and a B in history.
She will study German and English literature at the University of Edinburgh.
Isobel from Gobowen secured As in business and geography and a B in psychology.
She intends to study business management at the University of Leeds.
The college also celebrated its IB Diploma results, with 53 per cent of students achieving 30 or more points.
Moritz from Munich earned the highest score with 44 points and is planning a gap year.
Dariusz from Lublin, Poland, and James from Dubai each achieved 40 points.
Now Dariusz is also planning a gap year, while James will study economics at the University of New South Wales in Australia.
BTEC diploma students also achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, with several earning distinctions equivalent to an A* at A-level.
George from Whitchurch, Sophie from Shrewsbury, Charlie from Wrexham, and Stephanie from Shrewsbury all achieved three distinctions in the extended diploma.
George will study sport coaching at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Sophie will study sports rehabilitation at St Mary's University, Twickenham.
Whilst Charlie, a graduate of the college's golf academy, will pursue a professional career at a local golf club.
Stephanie will go on to study paediatric nursing at the University of Worcester.
Sixth formers also took part in the English-Speaking Board examinations and the EPQ, both of which offer additional UCAS points.
Most ESB results were at distinction or merit level.
External examiners praised the high standard of students' work.
Most EPQ grades were A*, A, or B, further strengthening university applications.
