Stranger Things Star Linda Hamilton Says ‘Retirement Is A Lot Harder' Than Working

Despite juggling multiple projects and feeling exhausted, Linda Hamilton said that retirement would be even more challenging for her. Linda Hamilton will always be remembered for her iconic role as Sarah Connor in The Terminator series, including Judgment Day and Dark Fate. These films cemented her status as a Hollywood legend. Following these hits, she transitioned to television. Even now, at her age, Hamilton has no plans to retire. Although she is juggling multiple projects simultaneously, she admits feeling 'really, really tired." Yet, she finds the idea of retirement even more challenging than staying busy with work. Speaking to People, the actress said, 'I worked straight for three years, 'cause I was doing Resident Alien and Stranger Things the same year. And I sneaked in another film while I was doing Stranger Things, and then I had to go straight off and finish off Resident Alien, and I'm tired. Really, really tired. But retirement is a lot harder than working, it turns out." Linda Hamilton is used to staying busy and dislikes slowing down. Now that her children are grown, she can fully concentrate on her work as she always wished. Without the need to juggle raising kids and her career, she can dedicate more time to preparing for her roles without any guilt. This newfound freedom has increased her enjoyment of acting. She is currently featured in the science fiction film Osiris, and Hamilton revealed that the role came to her unexpectedly, proving to be a fantastic opportunity. She said, 'I replaced an actor who had a medical problem, so they came to me very last minute. They offered me that actor's price. We didn't even negotiate. They were in a pickle, so it was a lot of money to step in, with maybe 10 days notice and three hard days of work. I loved working with the dialect coach and I loved going into a terrifying job with mouthfuls and mouthfuls of stuff, more than I've said in my entire career and treating it like a piece of theatre and going in with my s— together and with everything memorised so I can just play with it, like it's onstage." Linda Hamilton will be appearing in the final season of Stranger Things, which is set to be released in two parts, one in November and the other in December. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
