Woman, 25, dies after her electric bicycle zips into Aiken County intersection
A woman riding an electric bicycle in Aiken County died when she was hit by a truck Thursday evening. Cheryl Haynes, 25, was pronounced dead at about 9 p.m. Thursday at a local hospital, according to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables. Authorities say Haynes was riding an electric bike on Wagener Trail south of the town of Wagener when she was hit by a 2020 Dodge Ram. Investigators believe she failed to observe a stop sign at an intersection. Motorcyclist, 76, dies four days after collision in Aiken County
Aiken County investigators are looking into the death of a 76-year-old man who was hit while driving a three-wheeled motorcycle. Paul Morse was was driving a 2021 Can-Am Ryker south on Piney Heights Road at 12:16 p.m. Feb. 22 when he crashed into a 2023 Nissan Rogue turning north onto Piney Heights from Pine Log Road, according to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables. Morse was taken to Wellstar MCG Health in Augusta, where he died from his injuries at 4:50 p.m. Feb. 26. The coroner's office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing with the investigation. North Augusta woman dies in single-car crash
Feb. 6—A North Augusta woman has died following a single-vehicle crash. A 2010 Toyota Corolla was traveling south on Knox Avenue when the vehicle veered into the median and struck a tree, according to a release from Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables. The driver and sole occupant, 80-year-old Brenda Bevill, was transported by EMS to Wellstar MCG where she succmbed to her injuries, Ables said. Bevill will be autopsied in Newberry. The coroner's office and the North Augusta Department of Public Safety are investigating.
