June 14: Oxbow Fire Department Classic Car Show
Oxbow Fire Department 9th Annual & Dave Benson 3rd Annual Classic Car Show will be held on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oxbow Park on Main Street No fee for cars, 'If it is old or different, bring it down! We will be proud to show it!' Awards will be given for different categories of cars and tractors. There will also be live music. Throop firefighters selling chicken dinners on Big Game Day
THROOP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Chicken is on a lot of Big Game menus which has some local firefighters looking to cash in. Throop Hose Company #1 was busy making and selling chicken dinners. Volunteers packed up the dinners to go drive-thru style. Scranton bars, restaurants ready for Big Game Sunday All of the proceeds benefit Throop Hose Company #1. 'Well, it's important for the company, it's important for the community, not only ours, but for our neighboring company. The money goes right back into maintaining better equipment to help protect the people of the town and their properties,' said Throop Hose Company #1 President Dave Benson.
