Sensei appoints new leadership at Porcupine Creek retreat, enhancing luxury hospitality operations and supporting its mission as a leading wellbeing brand. RANCHO MIRAGE, CA – Leading wellbeing brand, Sensei, has announced several new appointments at Sensei Porcupine Creek, its luxury retreat in Rancho Mirage, California. The brand has appointed Ryan Drushel as Director of Food & Beverage, Joan Marte as Director of Operations, and Nicolas Galli as Director of Finance. Each of these three leaders brings extensive experience in the world of luxury hospitality to the premier wellbeing brand, founded by tech pioneer Larry Ellison and world-leading physician and scientist Dr. David Agus. 'As Sensei continues its mission of being the leading wellbeing brand in the industry, it is crucial to us to find talent who can help take our brand to the next level and whose expertise will continue to provide our guests with an unmatched luxury stay that excels across the board from culinary programming to remarkable accommodations,' said Alexandra Walterspiel, President and CEO of Sensei. 'Each with an incredibly strong background in the luxury hospitality sector, Ryan, Joan, and Nicolas will bring their years of expertise to their respective roles to aid in the continued growth and success of the brand.' Ryan Drushel Drushel joins the Sensei Porcupine Creek team as Director of Food & Beverage, working closely with the property's talented team of chefs, Sensei Guides, and Wellness Science team to oversee Sensei's culinary outlets, programs, and more. With over 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, he began his career in the heart-of-house as an Executive Steward and went on to manage beverage programs, banquets, lounges, and fine dining restaurants at iconic properties such as the Waldorf Astoria New York and The Pierre. Drushel has held leadership roles at Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Agua Caliente Casino, and most recently as Area Food & Beverage Director for Avalon Hotel & Bungalows and Ingleside Estate & Bungalows, which includes the historic Melvyn's Restaurant in Palm Springs. In his free time, Drushel enjoys hosting friends at home, experimenting with recipes and cocktails from his extensive cookbook collection, and hiking or exploring new places with his partner Phil and their dog, Duke. Joan Marte Marte is joining the Sensei team as Director of Operations, where she will be managing the day-to-day operations of the property, from accommodations to safety and security, golf and tennis, and more. With a BS in Hospitality Management, she brings almost 15 years of luxury hotel and resort leadership experience, with a background that includes Walt Disney World, Four Seasons, and Montage International. Most recently, Marte served as the Director of Rooms at Montage Big Sky, where she was responsible for the ultra-luxury operation of 100 rooms, 39 residences, 15 mountain homes, and 35 inn units. Leading the pre-opening team at the resort, Marte played a key role in training and helping the property achieve a Forbes Five-Star rating within its first year of evaluation. In her free time, Marte enjoys traveling the world to immerse herself in other cultures, volunteering in her community, partaking in outdoor activities, and recharging through the spa. Nicolas Galli With 10 years of experience in finance and a degree in Hospitality Management, Galli joins the Sensei team as Director of Finance. He began his career as a Management Trainee and went on to supervise accounts receivable at the St. Regis Aspen. He has held leadership roles as the Director of Finance at Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs, the Heathman Hotel, and the Woodlark Hotel. Most recently, he served as the Regional Director of Finance for Kimpton Hotels, part of the IHG portfolio. Galli enjoys cycling, rock climbing, and going on outdoor adventures with his dog.
