Horse racing tips: ‘He caught the eye on debut' – Templegate's NAP poised to strike in style

TEMPLEGATE takes on Tuesday's racing confident of building the bank ahead of Derby weekend. Back a horse by clicking their odds below. CLOUDS HILL (4.17 Leicester, nap) This son of Cracksman caught the eye when second on debut at Musselburgh last time for trainer Charlie Johnston. He got a bump off the winner when making his challenge, which was far from ideal. He should have learned from that experience and doesn't need much more. DELPOTRO (2.30 Southwell, nb) He had almost eight lengths in hand when scoring at Sedgefield last time and champion jockey Sean Bowen stays in the saddle. He likes this minimum trip on decent ground and can lead them home from the front again. TOURIST (7.45 Lingfield, treble) A horse going places. He's back on his favoured turf where he landed a cosy win at Bath two starts ago. He can get on the front under David Egan and will take a lot of passing. COMMANDING PRINCE (4.47 Leicester, Lucky 15) He's yet to finish out of the frame and went close at Ayr last time. He hung near the finish there and the first-time blinkers should help with that. Horse racing tips: ‘He's a big player again after course and distance win' – Templegate's 2-1 Windsor NAP

TEMPLEGATE tackles Monday's racing confident of swelling the coffers for Derby weekend. Back a horse by clicking their odds below. NEWFANGLED (8.45 Windsor, nap) Jonathan Portman's improving four-year-old has been in fine form this year and followed a close third at Newbury with a battling victory here last time out. He is best over this mile trip and a 2lb rise in the weights looks fair. He stays in the same grade today and is more than capable of following up. TWILIGHT GUEST (4.10 Brighton, nb) He had been threatening to win for a while and came good with lots left in his locker over course and distance six days ago. He's back out quickly under a penalty and won't mind the quicker conditions he faces today. Jockey David Egan can steer him home. JETTIE'S RUN (6.45 Windsor, treble) Signed off last season by winning at Kempton and should take a big step forward this season for Ralph Beckett who continues in fine form. She has lots of pace and will enjoy decent ground. VICTORS DREAM (5.15 Brighton) Is worth a place in the Lucky 15. He has a good record at this quirky track and was beaten in a tight finish here last time. He has plenty of speed for this trip and should be right there in similar company. Bucanero Fuerte thriving since Naas return

The Wootton Bassett colt – who was one of the best around as a two-year-old, winning the Grade One Phoenix Stakes – returned to action at the Kildare track earlier in the month, contesting the Sole Power Sprint over five furlongs at Listed level. Under David Egan, owner Amo Racing's retained jockey, the four-year-old was triumphant by a length and three-quarters to get his campaign off to a perfect start. He won at the same meeting last term in the six-furlong Lacken Stakes, but it was to be his only success as a three-year-old as the Group One-winning form of his juvenile career did not reappear. He did all that was required of him to return to winning ways at Naas, however, and the Midsummer Sprint Stakes at Cork may be his next target though loftier aims at Royal Ascot are not dismissed entirely. 'He's great after the race, he's come out of it absolutely bouncing,' said Murray. 'We're not sure exactly where he'll go next, there's a race at Cork in a few weeks and he could end up there. 'We've no real decisions made for him, we really needed to get the last run into him first to see where we were with him. 'We haven't got him in at Ascot yet, but we're not ruling it out.'
