Coroner's office dispatched to crash in McAdoo

A deputy with the Schuylkill County Coroner's office has been dispatched to a vehicle accident in McAdoo. A dispatcher with the Schuylkill County Communications Center confirmed there was an accident in the area of 1000 Mile Hill Road resulting in a fatality. Schuylkill County Coroner David Moylan III said the the coroner's office was dispatched shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday for a multivehicle crash in Kline Twp. A post mortem CT scan will be done at the Schuylkill County Forensic Center on Sunday or Monday. State Police at Frackville are investigating the incident. No additional information was immediately available. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

Man killed in rollover crash in Rush Twp.

The Schuylkill County Coroner's office was called out to a two-vehicle fatal crash on Pine Creek Drive in Rush Twp. Friday morning. The accident involving a rollover happened at 641 Pine Creek Drive at 11:50 a.m., a supervisor with the Schuylkill County Communications Center confirmed. A coroner's deputy pronounced a male driver deceased at the scene, said Schuylkill County Coroner David Moylan III. The victim was the only occupant of the vehicle, Moylan said. A postmortem scan will be done at the Schuylkill County Forensic Center, New Philadelphia, at the center's earliest convenience. Two vehicles were involved, Moylan said. As of 3 p.m. Friday, emergency personnel were still working at the scene. The accident closed Route 54 in both directions for most of the day, and a detour was put in place. At press time, a Facebook post from the Schuylkill County Office of Emergency Management and Local Emergency Planning Committee said Route 54 was closed in both directions between Marian Avenue and Fairview Street.

Woman killed in West Penn Twp. car crash

A 30-year-old Lehighton woman died and another person suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in West Penn Twp. The crash happened at 6:16 a.m. at 2520 West Penn Pike near Thunderhead Lodge at the top of Blue Mountain, a Schuylkill County Communications supervisor confirmed. A second person was flown by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest- Allentown. Authorities have yet to release the identity of the victim, pending notification of family. It's unclear if weather was a factor in the accident, authorities said. The road was shut down until 10:45 a.m. because of the accident. Two deputies with the Schuylkill County Coroner's office responded to the scene after being dispatched at 6:29 a.m. The victim, who was the driver of a car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Next-of-kin has not yet been notified, said Schuylkill County Coroner David Moylan III. A post-mortem CAT scan will be done at the Schuylkill County Forensic Center, possibly later Friday, Moylan said. West Penn Twp. police are investigating. Fire departments from West Penn Twp. New Tripoli, New Ringgold and responded, along with other emergency personnel.
