Leipzig's Raum wants to 'crash' Bayern's title party
Leipzig's David Raum (L) and Stuttgart's Jamie Leweling battle for the ball during the German DFB-Pokal Cup semi-final soccer match between VfB Stuttgart and RB Leipzig at the MHPArena. Raum has said that his RB Leipzig team will do everything to stop Bayern Munich from clinching the Bundesliga title in their duel on Saturday. Tom Weller/dpa David Raum has said that his RB Leipzig team will do everything to stop Bayern Munich from clinching the Bundesliga title in their duel on Saturday. Bayern are eight games ahead of title holders Bayer Leverkusen and will be assured of the title with two games to spare if they win in Leipzig. Advertisement "Everyone should have the idea that we're going to put everything into this game and not let Bayern have their party in our living room," Raum said on Tuesday. Raum conceded that his national team partner and Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich "comes as captain with Bayern Munich to Leipzig in a very good position." But he insisted: "I simply want to crash his (Kimmich's) party." Leipzig need the points in their bid for a top four finish and Champions League football next season. They are fifth, two points behind Frreiburg after being held 1-1 by lowly Kiel and crashing 4-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt. Advertisement Raum said the recent setbacks had nothing to do with coach Zsolt Löw who replaced Marco Rose until the end of the season as caretaker. "At the end of the day it is not a question about the coach. It is a question about the team, the attitude of every player. Everyone must question himself whether he has the right attitude and pursues the right goals," Raum said. Raum said that the team is not a title contender at the moment and that a rebuild is needed in summer. "We have to make sure that we are honest with each other. We have to make sure that we regroup," he said.

David Raum thanks Marco Rose for RB Leipzig's 'training retreat'
David Raum thanks Marco Rose for RB Leipzig's 'training retreat' Among the players most enthusiastic about head coach Marco Rose's decision to take the team on an Austrian retreat this weekend, RB Leipzig full-back David Raum was the first to laud Rose after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Freiburg in the Bundesliga Topspiel on Saturday night. The 26-times-capped German international lauded Rose's leadership when speaking to Sky Germany. 'If you look at the game, one point is definitely not enough,' Raum noted. 'We keep drawing away from home and that's not our aspiration. But we made some good progress, had a good game plan, and the coaches did a great job of getting us prepared. Advertisement 'There's ease and joy in training, in part thanks to the short [Salzburg] training camp,' Raum continued. 'The general mood feels right, but we just can't transfer it to the game. We just have to admit that it's not easy here in Freiburg and take the positives with us. 'Marco has a good relationship with everyone, fosters a positive atmosphere, and always finds the right words after games,' Raum concluded. 'It's definitely not the coach. He has not only influenced me here, but makes [useful] connections with every player.' GGFN | Peter Weis
