ROTC Commissioning Ceremony held at PSU
PITTSBURG, Kan. — It is a commencement weekend at Pittsburg State.
Ceremonies began on Friday, and run through Saturday afternoon. The one Friday morning was the annual 'ROTC commissioning' ceremony.
13 cadets were commissioned, of course, now officers, at the university's 'Veterans Memorial'.
Each newly minted officer took an oath and was then pinned by a family member. For many of these young men and women, the ones at home have also played an important role in this process.
'As a family. They've been your backbone supporting them, and everything I do is to help them in the future and they're my support and then my inspiration to keep on going,' said Lt. Ana Cisneros, PSU ROTC.

'This is definitely an extremely important moment in my life, you know, committing several years to serve the country and I'm extremely excited. I did get the branch that I was hoping for. Infantry. I'm going active duty,' said Lt. David Redding, PSU ROTC.
All 13 officers will officially become Pittsburg State alumni this weekend, some, as early as Friday night.
