Barbara Walters Doc ‘Tell Me Everything' to Premeire on Hulu After Tribeca Premiere
'Barbara Walters Tell Me Everything,' a documentary about the iconic late journalist executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, has set its Hulu debut. The film will begin streaming on June 23 after having its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Walters, who died in December 2022, was famous for her work across programs like 'Today,' the ABC Evening News, '20/20' and 'The View.' Directed by journalist Jackie Jesko, 'Barbara Walters Tell Me Everything' charts Walters' career and personal life as well as 'the challenges she faced trying to balance it all as a woman in a male-dominated industry. Walters, in her own words, also reflects on the high price of fame and the legacy she hoped to inspire,' the official description reads. It utilizes unaired archival footage including interviews with Cindy Adams, Joy Behar, Connie Chung, Martin Clancy, Andy Cohen, Katie Couric, Peter Gethers, Lori Klein, Cynthia McFadden, Bette Midler, Victor Neufeld, David Sloan, Katie Nelson Thomson, Chris Vlasto and Oprah Winfrey.

Grazer and Howard's Imagine Documentary's banner produced 'Barbara Walters Tell Me Everything' for ABC News Studios in association with Latchkey Films. Along with Grazer and Howard, executive producers include Imagine's Justin Wilkes and Betsy West and ABC News Studios' Muriel Pearson and David Sloan. Marcella Steingart, Sara Bernstein and Meredith Kaulfers serve as producers for Imagine.
'ABC News broke new ground by hiring Barbara and putting a woman at the anchor desk which was the exclusive preserve of men,' said David Sloan, senior executive producer at ABC News. 'Her road was filled with peril and naysayers and navigating that was not without personal costs. Nevertheless, Barbara created a dazzling career that had no blueprint and changed broadcast journalism forever.'
Sara Bernstein, president of Imagine Documentaries, said, 'Barbara Walters was a true trailblazer. She not only changed the face of broadcast journalism and set the gold standard, but she completely transformed the culture's consumption of celebrity journalism, and in the process, inspired generations with her determination, brilliance and humanity. It's been a true privilege to collaborate with Jackie Jesko, Betsy West and the exceptional team at ABC News Studios. We can't wait to shine a light on Barbara's iconic story with the Hulu audience.'
'My hope for the film is that audiences feel they get to know the real Barbara, in all her complexities — her private struggles and her public triumphs,' said Jesko. 'Barbara stayed a television fixture for five decades, battling rampant sexism, fierce competition, and a constantly evolving media landscape. In today's world, where celebrities and politicians can choose to speak out on their own social media platforms instead of subjecting themselves to a news interviewer, Barbara's story gives us the opportunity to explore the changing relationship between journalism, fame, and truth.'
