Day of Exploitation
Listen to article New Delhi's extra-constitutional and illegal act of abrogating Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian constitution six years ago, which granted special status to occupied Kashmir, is now threatening regional peace and stability. The four-day war between India and Pakistan in May this year testifies that New Delhi has not been able to come to terms with the imbroglio in the occupied territory, and its tall claims of restoring normalcy are no more than a hoax. On August 5, Pakistan observed the 'Day of Exploitation' to reaffirm its solidarity with Kashmiris. The country reaffirmed its commitment to UN-backed right to self-determination and political and human rights of over 15 million Kashmiris languishing under Hindutva-driven rule. Pakistan once again made the world realise that resolution of the longstanding dispute is essential and will remain a cornerstone of its foreign policy. The political posturing on August 5, driven by the RSS's ideology of hate and segregation, has dealt a severe blow to regional peace and the rights of the Kashmiri people. Subsequent measures — such as altering demography, granting millions of domiciles to non-residents and economically marginalising the locals — are what the so-called democratic India represents today. The day must solicit the civilised world's attention towards the detention of hundreds of Kashmiris, and the 'cordon and search' operations that are a new normal in the dispute region under Delhi's rule. It is irksome to note that New Delhi does not even trust its own political edifices in the occupied valley, and that the local political forces there too are in a quandary. That the occupied Kashmir is being treated as a colony goes without saying. It stands as a shameful indictment of India's acclaimed credentials of secularism and its image as a "shining" democracy. India, rather than endeavouring to browbeat Pakistan on flimsy contexts, as it did in the case of Pahalgam, must rescind its August 5 acts and talk it out with Islamabad for a perpetual bilateral solution.

Opposition slams govt for Kashmir-like treatment at home
Listen to article The Opposition in the Punjab Assembly lambasted the government for its double standards, stating that, on one hand, it expresses solidarity with Kashmiris against their mistreatment and cruelty, but on the other hand, it subjects the Opposition to similar treatment. Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, condemned the act of setting fire to houses, banks, and state properties under the guise of a protest or rally. Speaking to journalists, he said, 'Peaceful protest is everyone's right, but turning such an event into chaos and violence cannot be allowed under any circumstances.' He added that August 5 is the day of 'Youm-e-Istehsal' (Day of Exploitation), and everyone should stand by the Kashmiris. However, PTI created division by announcing protests on August 14, a national day. 'Today, the focus should have been on voicing against the cruelty towards the people of Palestine and Kashmir, rather than damaging the national cause under the guise of protests,' Speaker Khan warned. He further stated that turning protests into anarchy is unjustifiable. On the other hand, the Opposition's parliamentary leader, Ali Imtiaz Warraich, condemned the government's dual conduct, adding that, on one side, the government observes August 5 as a day to voice against the exploitation of Kashmiris and Palestinians, but on the other hand, it treats the Opposition with the same cruelty. He mentioned that PTI had called for a nationwide protest on August 5. In response to this call, PTI lawmakers assembled outside DHA Rehbar, but the police arrested nine of their lawmakers. 'PTI conducted a peaceful protest, yet even its lawmakers and workers were arrested,' he said. Warraich warned that PTI would devise a future strategy if its lawmakers and workers were not released.

Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Kashmir on ‘Youm-e-Istehsal'
Ahmed Emam Pakistan's top leadership has reaffirmed the country's unwavering political, moral, and diplomatic support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on the occasion of 'Youm-e-Istehsal' (Day of Exploitation), marking six years since India's revocation of the region's special constitutional status. In a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif condemned India's "illegal and unilateral actions" of August 5, 2019, which he said were aimed at altering the demographic makeup and political identity of the disputed region, in violation of international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions. 'Youm-e-Istehsal is a sobering reminder of India's rejection of peace and its investment in brutality and unilateralism,' said Prime Minister Sharif. 'The continued denial of basic human rights, dignity and identity of Kashmiris is a recipe for regional instability.' The Prime Minister accused India of sustaining its occupation through what he called a decades-long regime of 'state terrorism and oppression,' while praising the resilience and defiance of the Kashmiri people. He specifically mentioned jailed Kashmiri leaders including Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and Masarrat Alam Bhatt, asserting that their imprisonment would not weaken the resolve of the Kashmiri people. Sharif also linked the Kashmir issue with recent regional tensions, referring to India's 'unprovoked aggression' against Pakistan in May 2025 and the subsequent Pakistani military response, calling it 'swift and comprehensive.' He urged the international community to recognize Kashmir as the 'defining conflict' of South Asia and prioritize its resolution. In a separate message, President Asif Ali Zardari echoed these sentiments, calling India's 2019 actions an attempt to 'undermine the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.' He outlined a series of Indian measures over the past six years—such as redrawing electoral constituencies, issuing domicile certificates to non-Kashmiris, and implementing new land ownership laws—which he said were intended to disenfranchise Kashmiris and change the demographic structure of the region. 'The Kashmiri people are confronted with the danger of becoming a disempowered community in their own land,' said President Zardari. 'Their genuine leadership remains behind bars. The local media has been silenced, and fundamental freedoms curtailed.' Referring to India's recent military actions and Pakistan's response through 'Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos' , the President stated that the developments underscored the urgency of resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with UN Security Council resolutions. Both leaders reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to support the people of IIOJK until they achieve their internationally recognized right to self-determination. It's worth mentioning that 'Youm-e-Istehsal' marks the anniversary of India's move in 2019 to revoke Article 370 of its Constitution, which granted special autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan does not recognize this move and considers the territory as disputed. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
