Dhul-Hijjah Crescent Sighted in Tamir – Eid al-Adha Begins Friday, June 6
The crescent of the month of Dhul-Hijjah was confirmed to have been sighted this evening, Tuesday, at the Tamir Observatory, following successful observation under clear and favorable conditions, and with full preparations from the monitoring teams. Accordingly, Wednesday, June 4 will be the Day of Tarwiyah, Thursday, June 5 will be the Day of Arafah, and Friday, June 6 will mark the first day of Eid al-Adha. This announcement comes in response to the call of the Supreme Court, which had urged Muslims across the Kingdom to observe the crescent on the evening of the 29th of Dhul-Qa'dah, 1446 AH, corresponding to May 27, 2025. The court invited anyone who sighted the crescent—either with the naked eye or through binoculars—to report their testimony to the nearest court. The Supreme Court is expected to issue an official statement within the coming hours confirming the beginning of Dhul-Hijjah and, consequently, the dates for the Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha, based on verified testimonies.
