Manhunt underway for father accused of murdering his three daughters; former Wisconsin resident

Editor's Note: This story contains details that some readers may find disturbing. WENATCHEE, Wash. (WFRV) – Three sisters under the age of 10 were found dead in Washington on Monday, and a manhunt is underway for their father, a Wisconsin native. According to the Wenatchee Police Department, officers responded to a civil complaint at 9:45 p.m. on Friday, May 30. The mother of three young girls reported that her daughters were not returned following a scheduled visitation with their father. 'Essentially became a missile': 19-year-old De Pere woman faces 25 charges, $500,000 cash bond for allegedly going 80mph in downtown Fond du Lac The girls—ages 9, 8, and 5—were last seen with their father, identified as 32-year-old Travis Decker of the Wenatchee area. According to WFRV's CBS affiliate in Milwaukee, Decker previously lived in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Officers began searching for Decker and the children immediately. Decker was believed to be living out of a white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup truck with Washington license plate D20165C. Local motels in Wenatchee and East Wenatchee were checked without success. The vehicle's information was entered into the local Flock camera database, which showed the truck had traveled west on Highway 2 from Wenatchee on May 30. An AMBER Alert request was initially denied by the Washington State Patrol, but an Endangered Missing Person Alert was issued the next day after police provided additional information. Over the weekend, Wenatchee Police worked with local law enforcement and the FBI to investigate possible locations in Chelan County. By June 2, the search had narrowed to an area between Icicle Road and Chumstick Road near Leavenworth. That same day, an arrest warrant was issued for Decker on three counts of first-degree custodial interference. At approximately 3:45 p.m. Monday, a Chelan County deputy located Decker's vehicle near the Rock Island Campground off Icicle Road. The truck was unoccupied. While searching the area, authorities found the bodies of the three missing girls. According to the criminal complaint, each was found with a plastic bag over their head, and their wrists were zip-tied. Decker was not located. Authorities say that the preliminary examination suggests the likely cause of death for the three children was affixation. A SWAT team and Washington State Patrol's Crime Scene Response Team responded to assist in processing the scene and searching for Decker. As of now, Decker remains at large. He is wanted for three counts of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping. Meth supplier, 2 suspected Wisconsin dealers arrested after traffic stop prompts larger investigation, seizure of 350+ grams Police say Decker is a former military member with extensive training. It is unknown whether he is currently armed, but authorities warn he may pose a significant threat if approached. Anyone who has seen Decker since May 30 or knows his whereabouts is urged to contact law enforcement immediately. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. St. Norbert College honors grads in touching 126th commencement ceremony

DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – St. Norbert College awarded diplomas to nearly 430 graduates during its 126th Commencement Ceremony held at the Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center. The celebration brought together families, friends, and faculty to mark a major milestone for the Class of 2025. Many students spoke about the strong sense of community they experienced during their time at the college. Fox Cities PAC rolls out red carpet for annual Center Stage High School Musical Showcase 'One word comes to mind when I think about this whole day, and it's just a huge sense of gratefulness,' said Jackson Thiel, a finance and political science graduate from Hilbert. 'Gratefulness for the people that came—so many people out here today that came to support the graduates.' Thiel credited the college's small class sizes and personal attention from faculty for helping students succeed. He plans to attend Marquette Law School in the fall. Lacy Gurts, an elementary education major from Suamico, reflected on the supportive environment that shaped her college experience. 'Everyone cares so deeply about each other,' Gurts said. 'From our professors to our peers, all the faculty and staff—you can just tell how much everyone cares about our wellbeing.' Gurts will begin her teaching career this fall in Howard and will return to St. Norbert as an assistant swim coach. UW-Green Bay marks historic milestone with spring commencement for over 1,000 graduates The college community often uses the Latin word communio—meaning community—to describe the close bonds formed on campus. President Laurie Joyner says it's a core part of the St. Norbert experience. 'Our students really do become a part of our family,' Joyner said. 'This is a very special and unique learning community.' Wisconsin veterans unite with locals to combat hunger crisis

WRIGHTSTOWN, Wis. (WFRV) – Veterans and community members came together Saturday morning to fight hunger, this time, not on the battlefield, but at the donation table. As part of the national VFW Day of Service, members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts and Auxiliaries from Wisconsin's 8th District launched a district-wide 'Veterans Against Hunger' initiative. The final celebration and food drop-off event was held at Cotter Funeral Home in Wrightstown, marking the end of a multi-week campaign supporting rural food pantries and a local animal rescue. Michelle Leick-Leurquin, VFW Post 2113 surgeon and service officer, said the idea came from a conversation with fellow veteran Randy Hansen. 'We know that the southern Brown County food pantries don't get a lot of support the bigger area food pantries get, like Green Bay and De Pere, they get the support of Paul's Pantry,' she said. 'We know that they are in need, especially as our area is growing.' De Pere's Redbird Ribbon Walk unites community for cancer funds Donations were collected at multiple locations, including Community First Credit Union, Dick's Family Foods, and local fire and police departments, which helped organize 'Fill the Squad Car' drives in both De Pere and Wrightstown. Items collected will be distributed to five small food pantries in the area and the newly created Wild and Free Animal Rescue Group. Leick-Leurquin, a 22-year veteran, said the event gave her a chance to keep serving even after retirement. 'I still crave the service,' she said. 'The support is huge. It really gives you that warm feeling in your heart knowing that you're able to give back to everybody and continue to serve.' Boy Scouts from De Pere Troop 1039 also helped collect and sort food at the final event. 'I love helping the community, it's something I've always loved doing,' said Lucas Beck, an Eagle Scout. 'For us it gives us service hours but it helps us know that we got to help the community, that we got to impact it just a little bit more.' Organizers say they hope the campaign inspires more service-based events in the future, uniting veterans and civilians around a common cause. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
