Ryan Reynolds Goes in for a Kiss with Sister-in-Law Robyn Lively in 'Doogie Howser' Spoof

Ryan Reynolds spoofed Doogie Howser, M.D. as a response to the show's star Neil Patrick Harris voicing Deadpool in a new video game Doogie alum Robyn Lively joined her brother-in-law for the hilarious video, in which Reynolds appears to awkwardly lean in for a kiss "No, I don't think we should do that, because ... you're my sister-in-law," Reynolds tells Robyn, who is the older sister of his wife Blake LivelyRyan Reynolds teamed up with sister-in-law Robyn Lively for a Doogie Howser, M.D. spoof. The actor stars opposite Robyn in a new video spoofing her TV show Doogie Howser, M.D., all for a joking response to the hit series' star Neil Patrick Harris now voicing Reynolds' character Deadpool in a new video game. As a whitecoat-clad Reynolds, 48, types up a scathing letter on an old-school desktop PC, Robyn — who played love interest Michele Faber opposite Harris' Doogie in the show, which ran from 1989 to 1993 — pops up in the window and yells, "House call!" "My girlfriend! What are you doing here? If my dad sees you here, he's gonna freak," Reynolds tells Robyn, his wife Blake Lively's older sister, who cheekily replies, "You're a 48-year-old man." "I'm a 14-year-old medical prodigy who's going through the change," Reynolds says as "Doogie," which prompts Robyn to respond, "Are you talking about puberty?" "Robyn, you're being paid," quips Reynolds. "This is vindictive and stupid," she replies, to which Reynolds hits back with, "I disagree with that diagnosis." After an ad for the Meta Quest game Deadpool VR (featuring the voice of Harris, 51) plays onscreen, Reynolds and Robyn, 53, have one last thing to sort out. After he appears to awkwardly lean in for a kiss, Reynolds backs up and says, "No, I don't think we should do that, because—" "Because you are so dumb," Robyn says, at the same time he says, "Because you're my sister-in-law." A synopsis for the new game reads, "Contracted by Mojo, with the promise of making money, like a lot of money, Deadpool sets out to capture villains from the Marvel Universe." "The Merc with the Mouth soon realizes he shouldn't have so hastily signed the contract," the description adds. "Will he survive or thrive in his journey to become the Mojoverse's most famous interdimensional streaming star?" is now available in the Apple App Store! Earlier in his spoof, Reynolds is seen writing a journal entry a la Doogie and narrating, "Today, I learned a lesson about buttholes they don't teach you in medical school. People who steal your signature role are the biggest buttholes of all." "No, I don't blame Meta Quest. Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel, but even though I haven't hit puberty yet, I still know when you're getting totally screwed," Reynolds added. Silksong release date teased for Christmas by Xbox but it could be sooner

While it's easy to doubt Xbox's insistence that Silksong will be out by Christmas, developer Team Cherry has since corroborated it. After only being referenced during Summer Game Fest as part of the reveal for a Deadpool VR game, the long awaited Hollow Knight sequel Silksong made a proper appearance at the recent Xbox showcase, if only to promote the new handheld devices from ASUS. According to Xbox president Sarah Bond, Silksong will be available 'at launch and in Game Pass' when the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X release later this year, during the Christmas gift-giving season. It's easy to be sceptical when, during its 2022 showcase, Xbox promised Silksong would drop within the next 12 months (spoilers: it didn't and was later formally delayed), but it sounds like the sequel will not only be out this year but earlier than initially suggested. While Bond's comments seemed to imply that Silksong will arrive part and parcel with the ROG Xbox handhelds, Matthew 'Leth' Griffin –marketing and publishing manager for developer Team Cherry – says that the game's release is not tied to any specific console release. Plus, he insists that Silksong will be out before the Christmas season, so you could be playing it by the end of autumn. 'I confirmed before holiday – we are not tied to a console release,' writes Griffin, making sure to emphasise the 'before.' Strangely, this detail was not shared by Griffin on his public social media accounts or the official Team Cherry accounts. Instead, it was shared on Discord, but was soon picked up by the Daily Silksong News account on X. This wasn't in the video, but Leth explicitly confirmed that Silksong will release BEFORE the holiday, and that they are not tied to Xbox's console release. — Daily Silksong News (@DailySilksong) June 8, 2025 Initially intended as DLC for the original Hollow Knight, Silksong's development saw it balloon into a full-on sequel, which Team Cherry confirmed back in 2019. More Trending It has now been more than six years since that announcement and details on the sequel have been almost non-existent beyond a few scant appearances at the occasional gaming showcase. As such, it's become a running joke that Silksong is never going to come out and its eager fanbase has expected it at every gaming showcase, only to be left disappointed. Although its constant absences have cultivated a sense of self awareness among fans. The big Nintendo Switch 2 showcase from April gave fans renewed hope, when it briefly showed Silksong with a vague 2025 release window. And while a proper trailer remains MIA, it's looking increasingly likely that the game will drop in the coming months. Email gamecentral@ leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter. Ryan Reynolds shares mock video reaction to having Deadpool role ‘stolen' by Neil Patrick Harris

Ryan Reynolds has shared a comic video reacting to having the role of Deadpool 'stolen' a forthcoming video game about the character. Marvel's Deadpool VR, a new game for the Meta Quest 3 and 3S platforms, was announced at Summer Game Fest 2025 this week – and will see Broadway star Neil Patrick Harris voice the comic book character that Reynolds has played on screen since 2009. Just hours after the trailer for Marvel's Deadpool VR was released online, Reynolds shared a video in which he can be seen 'over-reacting' to the news. In the video, Reynolds can be seen wearing a lab coat and glasses, in an apparent imitation of Harris in the latter's star-making role, as a teenage physician in the sitcom Doogie Howser, MD. Journaling on his personal computer, Reynolds writes: 'Today, I learned a lesson about buttholes they don't teach you in medical school. 'People who steal your signature role are the biggest buttholes of all,' he continues. 'No, I don't blame Meta Quest. Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel, but even though I haven't hit puberty yet, I still know when you're getting totally screwed.' Reynolds is then interrupted by the appearance of Robyn Lively, who tells him that he's being 'vindictive and stupid'. Lively, the half-sister of Reynolds' wife Blake Lively, appeared in Doogie Howser as a nursing student who dates Harris's character. Fans reacted positively to the video on social media, with one person writing: 'Ryan is a goat for this.' 'It's funny that most people don't realise he's parodying NPH's old show as revenge for taking the Deadpool role. But, it also just reminds me how old I am because I instantly recognised the reference,' another wrote. 'It's like they didn't even ASK him. Because you know Ryan would've PAID to do the voice,' someone else claimed. Reynolds has portrayed the character of Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, in four feature films: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) Deadpool (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018) and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024). While Reynolds was not one of the many names announced to star in the forthcoming Avengers sequel, it is widely expected that Reynolds will reprise the character in a future Marvel film.

Ryan Reynolds spoofs 'Doogie Howser M.D.', calls Neil Patrick Harris a 'butthole' for stealing Deadpool game role

Ryan Reynolds isn't letting go of Deadpool without a fight — or at least some carefully plotted vengeance. After several years as the face, voice and personal cheerleader of the merc with a mouth, Reynolds has been usurped by Neil Patrick Harris, who is set to voice the comic book character in Marvel's Deadpool VR, a new game for the Meta Quest 3 and 3S. And Reynolds is taking the news about as well as expected. Hours after the trailer for the game arrived on Saturday, Reynolds shared a video in which he is seen "overreacting" to the news. The video opens with the Deadpool & Wolverine star sitting at a decades-old computer while wearing glasses and a lab coat in an apartment eerily similar to that of the title character in Doogie Howser, MD., Harris' star-making role. "Today, I learned a lesson about buttholes they don't teach you in medical school," Reynolds narrates. "People who steal your signature role are the biggest buttholes of all." Spoofing the journal entries that Doogie often made on the show, Reynolds continued, "No, I don't blame Meta Quest. Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel, but even though I haven't hit puberty yet, I still know when you're getting totally screwed." Reynolds is then interrupted by the appearance of Robyn Lively, who played a love interest to Harris in Doogie Howser M.D. "House call," she announces. Staying in character, Reynolds says, "My girlfriend, what are you doing here? If my dad sees you here, he's gonna freak." But Lively, the half-sister of Reynolds' wife Blake Lively, doesn't play along. "You're a 48-year-old man," she reminds him. "I'm a 14-year-old medical prodigy who's going through the change," Reynolds insists, sticking to the stolen character before breaking the fourth wall to remind her: "Robin, you're being paid." Lively ignores him and deadpans, "This is vindictive and stupid." But Reynolds is not dissuaded from his revenge quest. Later, he even attempts to double down on the role of Doogie by going in for a kiss with Robyn, but can't bring himself to do it. "I don't think we should do that because you're my sister-in-law," he says, giving up. Lively replies, "You're so dumb." While Reynolds' tenure as Doogie was shortlived, Harris is committing to his role as Deadpool. The trailer for the upcoming game promises an adventure that's "not for the faint of heart," warning players to "put on your big-kid undies and strap in for a violent, expletive-ridden good time." The game is slated to drop later this year. In the meantime, watch Reynolds attempt to steal the role of Doogie in the video above. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Fun Trailer For The New DEADPOOL VR Game Starring Neil Patrick Harris — GeekTyrant

If you've ever wanted to step into Deadpool's blood-soaked boots to make a complete bloody mess of the Marvel Universe, your moment is almost here. Meta Quest just dropped the trailer for Marvel's Deadpool VR , and Neil Patrick Harris is voicing the Merc with a Mouth, bringing the chaos, sarcasm, and deeply questionable decisions to virtual reality. Developed by Twisted Pixel and Oculus Studios in partnership with Marvel Games, this is a full-blown, fourth-wall-breaking rampage that tosses you straight into a brand-new Deadpool storyline. In classic Wade Wilson fashion, he signs a shady contract without reading the fine print, because of course he does, and gets zapped into Mojoworld. What follows is a gonzo tour through Marvel's weirder corners, packed with iconic (and not-so-iconic) villains, all ripe for dismemberment. Here's the official pitch: 'After being pulled through a portal to Mojoworld, Deadpool sees a chance to get rich—like really rich. He signs a sketchy contract without reading any of the fine print and then it's off to visit a bunch of locations from across the Marvel universe, battling against iconic (and not-so-iconic) villains. It's real metaverse stuff—in the Marvel Universe sense, not the VR one.' The game is dropping in late 2025 for Meta Quest 3 and 3S, and based on the trailer, it's shaping up to be wildly unhinged in all the right ways. The devs aren't holding back, either. 'Sure, you can simply stab or shoot your enemies, but where's the fun in that? Punch someone while holding a grenade? Check. Take your recently exploded-off arm and throw it at the bad guys? Gross, but also check. Hold an enemy's face into a spinning propeller? A bloody, but efficient, check. Soldiers, demonic dogs, weird humanoid lizards, creepy worm-things, they're all waiting to be dismembered in creative (some might say sadistic) ways.' You can watch the trailer now, fresh out of Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, and start preparing your stomach for VR-induced violence and fourth-wall-breaking shenanigans.
