Wishaw business owner reflects on being part of hit BBC series
Declan Connor and his company, Property Improvement Bros, were of the businesses who offered their time and expertise providing the exterior cleaning services for the home during the DIY SOS episode which was filmed at a property near Glasgow.
A Wishaw man has revealed his experience of being part of hit BBC series DIY SOS.
Declan Connor and his company, Property Improvement Bros, were of the businesses who offered their time and expertise providing the exterior cleaning services for the home during the episode which was filmed at a property near Glasgow.
Declan's company provides exterior pressure washing, gutter cleaning, lawn mowing, hedge trimming, and garden tidy-ups and he was delighted to play a small part in the dream makeover.
He said: 'With so many trades in and out during the build, it was important to ensure the outside looked as good as the incredible work done on the inside.
'Our team helped bring the exterior back to life, making it feel like a fresh start for the family.
'While I can't share details about their personal story until the episode airs, I can say it left a lasting impact on me. It reminded me how powerful community support can be.
'Being part of DIY SOS is, without question, one of the proudest moments of my career. I've already reached out to volunteer on future episodes — wherever they may be.
'I'm grateful for the opportunity to give back and excited to continue supporting more families in need.'
Starting out as a van boy, Declan worked his way up to earn his Class 2 and then Class 1 license before claiming to find his 'true calling' — helping people take pride in their homes.
He launched Property Improvement Bros a few years ago, and earlier this year, he made the leap to go fully self-employed and dedicate myself entirely to the business.
Declan added: 'Since making that decision, the business has gone from strength to strength. We've been busier than ever, with new clients coming in regularly through word of mouth and social media.
'It's been incredible to see how quickly things have grown once I was able to give it my full attention. I now have big plans for the future of Property Improvement Bros, and I'm committed to building a trusted name in exterior cleaning across the region.'
