Physically challenged pensioners face delay
Kanpur: Around 1,344 physically challenged persons are being deprived from the pension due to absence of National Payment Corporation of India's mapping. Most of the pending cases of mapping were in the nationalised banks. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now As per information, SBI has pendency of 377 cases, 255, Indian Bank 148, Punjab National Bank 146 and Central Bank 101. In a review meeting held on Wednesday at Vikas Bhawan, chief development officer Deeksha Jain directed all nodal officers of the banks to ensure that NPCI mapping of all handicapped pensioners is done within 15 days, so that the pension of the said handicapped pensioners can be issued immediately by the department. The chief development officer, while reviewing cash credit limit under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), directed to transfer 100% CCL amount to the accounts of all eligible groups within two days, against the CCL target of 2100 under the NRLM scheme. During the review meeting, the highest number of pending cases were found in Bank of Baroda, State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank, for which special instructions were given for immediate disposal. The CDO said that the bank doing the best work would be honoured with a certificate. For this, the manager of the lead district bank, Bank of Baroda, was directed to select the bank performing excellent work and ensure that they would be honoured.

Agency blacklisted for delay in construction of cow shed
Kanpur: District magistrate Kanpur Nagar Jitendra Pratap Singh on Saturday, in review meeting, directed to black list the implementing agency UPC LDSF and take action against its executive engineer for the delay in completion of construction work of large cow shed in Jamalpur, Kakwan and Nanamau villages in Bilhaur. While giving instructions for the protection of destitute cows, the district magistrate said that all the Block Development Officers should protect 30 destitute cows every month in their respective blocks and ensure proceedings for handing over at least 40 cattle under the Chief Minister's Participation Scheme. The DM directed the additional municipal commissioner (Municipal Corporation) to also protect 100 destitute cows every month. He directed the Nagar Palika Parishad (Bilhaur, Ghatampur) and Nagar Panchayat (Bithoor, Shivrajpur) to ensure protection of 25 cows every month in their respective cow shelters, which should be reviewed monthly by the district veterinary officer. Expressing dissatisfaction over the progress of Aadhar linking of Divyangjans, the DM directed the district minority welfare officer to get all the pending cases verified on Saturday itself. While reviewing 10 pending projects that are affecting the ranking of the district, he directed to send a letter to the principal secretary (Planning). Chief development officer Deeksha Jain, basic shiksha adhikari, zila panchayat raj adhikari and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
