Hubballi: Officials must take steps to provide essential infrastructure such as clean drinking water, drainage systems, and roads to rural populations, said ZP chief planning officer Deepak Madiwalar. Addressing a general body meeting held at the taluk panchayat auditorium here on Saturday, Madiwalar stated that officials need to ensure the proper use of govt-released funds for the right projects. "The Jal Jeevan Mission scheme was implemented to provide clean drinking water to rural people. However, there are complaints from the public about inadequate water supply and reports of contaminated water being provided. Officials from the rural drinking water & sanitation department should address these issues promptly to ensure the provision of clean drinking water," he advised. Complaints have also been received about the quality of bananas distributed to school children. Therefore, officials should inspect the bananas before distribution. There are reports of some children hesitating to consume milk.
