In visit to Adampur air base, PM Modi commends IAF personnel, ADS crew
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Force Station near Jalandhar, Punjab, on Tuesday and interacted with personnel at the base, including the crew of the Air Defence System (ADS), which played a crucial role during Operation Sindoor.
'Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation,' he posted afterwards on X.

Air Force sources say the PM congratulated the IAF personnel for their performance in the strikes carried out on terrorist bases in Pakistan and PoK.
The Air Defence System team also received special praise for having kept the Pakistan Air Force aircraft at bay and neutralising the drone threat.
Adampur is one of the frontline air bases of the IAF in Punjab and is home to several fighter squadrons.
Addressing the nation on Monday night, Modi had praised India's air defence system, saying, 'The world saw how their drones and missiles were blown away in front of our strong air defence system. Pakistan prepared for a border attack, but we attacked them on the chest. Our missiles and drones damaged the Pakistan air bases it was so proud of.'
