Stephen Curry's Dad Weighs in on Retirement Speculation, Warriors Future originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the NBA offseason nears, the Golden State Warriors have some key decisions to make regarding their roster as they try to build a championship contender. Advertisement The Warriors will look to upgrade their roster around their star trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, who led Golden State to the second round of the playoffs before losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games after Curry suffered an injury in Game 1. Of course, the Warriors' trio are all nearing the end of their NBA careers and Golden State will look to upgrade their roster around them in the offseason to help them compete for a title next season. But when the time comes, I think he'll make the right decision,' Dell said about Stephen's outlook for the rest of his career. With Dell's comments, it is clear that Stephen is nowhere near retiring from the NBA as he wants to chase another title with the Warriors, while also helping Butler win his first ring. This is not a surprising statement by Dell as Stephen is still playing at a high level that saw him be named to the All-NBA Second Team this season. Curry is coming off a season in which he averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 44.8% from the field and 39.7% from three-point range. Dell Curry Shares Update on Steph Curry's NBA Future
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry remains arguably one of the top players in the world. The four-time NBA champion is coming off yet another stellar season, where he led his team to the second round of the playoffs after securing the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference. Curry has defied the odds in his career. Many didn't think he would be this good; in fact, many didn't even think he would be a player in the league for a long time. However, he has jumped through every single hurdle in his career, and now he is arguably the greatest point guard of all time and arguably one of the top 15 players of all time. While Curry is still at the top of his game, he is closer to the end of his career than the beginning. The 37-year-old will soon enter his 17th season in the league; however, he is not close to being done, at least according to his father, Dell Curry. Curry spoke to DJ Siddiqi of RG Media and said his son still has a ton left in the tank. But when the time comes, I think he'll make the right decision." If there was an indication that Curry is at the top of his game, we saw it this past season. In 70 games this season, the two-time MVP averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting 44.8 percent from the field, 39.7 percent from beyond the arc and 93.3 percent from the free-throw line. The 11-time All-Star has been one of the best players in the league for over a decade, and even as he nears the end of his career, that still remains the case. Curry is a threat from all over the court and remains a terrifying player, due to his ability to hurt opponents from anywhere on the court. The former Davidson Wildcat suffered a hamstring strain in the first game of the second round of the playoffs. That hamstring strain kept him out of the playoffs and eventually led to the downfall of the Warriors, who were eliminated in five games by the Minnesota Timberwolves in a gentlemanly sweep. Curry still has some years left under his belt, and they will all likely be with the Warriors. Meet Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry's brother Seth: the Charlotte Hornets guard is married to NBA coach Doc Rivers' daughter Callie, and has worked with Asus and Neiman Marcus
The Curry name has been a part of NBA history for nearly 40 years. Dell Curry had an illustrious career, playing for five teams over 16 seasons, while Stephen Curry has become a legend in his own right, holding the current record for most three-pointers ever scored in an NBA career. But who is Steph's lesser-known little brother, Seth Curry? Stephen Curry hugging brother Seth Curry, when the pair faced off in 2019. In recent years, nepotism within the NBA has been a hot topic. Between two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo's brother Thanasis getting a contract with his brother's team, the Milwaukee Bucks, in 2019, to fans questioning whether LeBron James' eldest son Bronny deserves to be put on the roster for Los Angeles Lakers in 2024, audiences are becoming increasingly critical about players being given advantages that are not based on merit. Advertisement This, however, does not seem to be a concern for the Curry men. Despite his father and brother's success, Seth has managed to prove that he's rightfully earned a place in the league. What else do we know about Seth Curry? Seth Curry's NBA career Seth Curry in 2021. Photo: @sdotcurry/Instagram Seth Curry, who played at Duke University for the Duke Blue Devils, had a successful NCAA run, but after graduating in 2013, went undrafted. Later that year, he was acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA G League, the sport's development league. Since then, Curry has been traded frequently. Unlike his brother, who's played for the Golden State Warriors his entire career, Seth has played for a handful of teams in both the West Coast and East Coast conferences, even landing with the Dallas Mavericks three times: in the 2016-2018 season, then 2019-2020, and again in the 2023-2024 season.
