Dell Boosts IT Infrastructure for Modern Data Centers

Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL) has introduced enhancements to its server, storage, and data protection solutions to meet the growing demands of modern data centers. These updates aim to accelerate data center modernization, support hybrid workloads, and strengthen IT infrastructure for today's evolving business needs. As organizations face rising AI demands, mixed workloads, and growing cyber threats, many are shifting to disaggregated infrastructure. This approach separates compute, storage, and networking into shared resource pools, improving scalability and efficiency. The new Dell PowerEdge servers offer better performance, energy savings, and scalability. The R470, R570, R670, and R770 models, powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors, support both traditional and emerging workloads. They deliver up to 67% higher performance, use up to 50% more cores, and reduce energy and space consumption. The R770 can save up to 80% of rack space and cut greenhouse gas emissions. The PowerEdge R570 achieves record-breaking performance per watt, helping lower energy costs. These servers also support the new DC-MHS architecture, allowing easy integration into existing infrastructure. With Dell OpenManage and IDRAC 10 updates, users benefit from real-time monitoring and improved management. In storage, Dell PowerStore now features AI-powered analytics, zero-trust security, and improved file system support. Dell AIOps software helps reduce manual tasks, while enhanced security tools offer faster restore times and better access control. New file management capabilities also make it easier to plan capacity and migrate from Dell Unity systems. Meanwhile, the HDD-based ObjectScale X560 improves media ingest and AI model training. A new hybrid cloud solution developed with Wasabi supports data governance, geo-replication, and long-term retention. The Dell PowerScale platform now offers improved data access and performance for AI workloads. With 122TB SSDs, a single 2U node can handle up to 6PB of data. Updated A and H series nodes reduce latency and improve efficiency for hybrid and archive storage needs. In data protection, Dell PowerProtect delivers better performance, security, and efficiency. The new DD6410 appliance supports 12TB to 256TB and offers 91% faster restore speeds. It also achieves up to 65X deduplication. Dell's All-Flash Ready Node reduces power use by 36%, speeds up restore times by 61%, and has a 5X smaller footprint. PowerProtect Data Manager now supports anomaly detection, Red Hat OpenShift, and Microsoft Hyper-V backup. It also integrates with ObjectScale for easier long-term archiving. Arthur Lewis, president of Dell's Infrastructure Solutions Group, said modern workloads need a new kind of infrastructure. Dell's disaggregated solutions reduce complexity and increase agility. Simon Robinson, principal analyst at Omdia, noted that Dell is helping businesses overcome infrastructure challenges. These updates make it easier to manage mixed workloads and simplify IT operations.
