Former Texas A&M stars shine in Browns vs. Panthers preseason clash

Preseason is an interesting time for football fans. They're eager to watch the sport return, but it often comes with sloppy play and uneven performances. Still, every now and then, a game grabs national attention, and Friday night was one of those moments. Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders made his NFL debut, igniting a firestorm across social media. But what does this have to do with Texas A&M football? Quite a bit. Four former Aggies shared the field that night, with three tasked with slowing Sanders down. The standout of the group might have been Nic Scourton. He played fast and showed relentless hustle, finishing with one sack and two tackles for loss (TFLs). Demani Richardson also made his presence felt, recording three tackles, a TFL, and a sack. Bobby Brown III added three tackles and a TFL of his own all with the Carolina Panthers. On the other sideline, newly signed Browns running back Trayveon Williams made an early impression with his new team. He racked up 56 total yards on five carries, two receptions, and a kickoff return, showcasing his versatility. While much of the spotlight was on Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders, the former Aggies delivered a strong showing in the opening week of the 2024 NFL preseason.
