Rumor: Potential lottery pick Egor Demin is 'high' on Bulls' draft board
Rumor: Potential lottery pick Egor Demin is 'high' on Bulls' draft board Egor Demin is drawing interest from several teams ahead of the 2025 NBA draft, with the Chicago Bulls reportedly among those high on the former BYU guard. Demin was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team, averaging 10.6 points, 5.5 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals on 41.2% shooting from the field in 33 games. He finished in double figures 19 times, including a season-high 20 points, seven assists and rebounds on Nov. 8. The 6-foot-9 Russian dazzled as a playmaker, ranking third in the conference in assists after setting the freshman program record with 180. He possesses several skills the Bulls are looking for in a prospect and is high on their radar, according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. This is more than just smoke. There are flames all around the quick climber from Brigham Young. Demin has seen his stock go from late teens in the first round to the end of the lottery, and now he's kicking down the door to the top 10. The Pelicans at No. 7, the Nets at No. 8 and the Raptors at No. 9 could take Demin and be thrilled about it. Demin became the first five-star recruit to commit to BYU after playing for the Real Madrid youth team over the previous two seasons. He is considered a potential lottery pick, given his skill set, ability as a playmaker and size at the point guard position. The 19-year-old struggled to shoot from 3-point range, converting only 27.3% of his 4.3 attempts per game. However, Demin showed improvement at the combine earlier this month, connecting on 58.4% in total attempts across two 3-point shooting drills. Demin is currently projected to be selected in the 10-20 range, making the Bulls a realistic landing spot for him with the 12th pick. But with three-plus weeks to go until the festivities, draft boards will certainly fluctuate as prospects interview and work out with teams. The draft will take place on June 25-26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Latest 2025 NBA mock draft from ESPN has Egor Demin rising after strong combine showing
Latest 2025 NBA mock draft from ESPN has Egor Demin rising after strong combine showing The 2025 NBA Draft Combine concluded in Chicago, and while there were several winners and losers, one of the most interesting prospects is Egor Demin. After an up-and-down one-and-done campaign for BYU, the Russian guard stood out in front of scouts and evaluators in Chicago. During his freshman season, he averaged 10.6 points and 5.5 assists per game as one of the best playmakers in the class. Here is more from Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo in their latest mock, where Demin was projected at No. 11 overall to the Portland Trail Blazers (via ESPN): "Demin had a positive week at the combine in Chicago, measuring bigger than expected at 6-9½ in shoes and then putting on one of the most impressive pro day performances we've seen in some time, causing even the most skeptical of NBA evaluators to acknowledge his undeniable talent. Demin has made significant gains with his body and will continue to fill out, while making a barrage of 3-pointers with picture-perfect mechanics and a lightning-quick release that offered significant room for optimism despite hitting 27% of his 3-pointers in his lone season at BYU. Also, NBA teams raved about his interviews in Chicago. The Trail Blazers can go in several directions with this pick, and adding a big guard with a strong feel for the game who can slide into different roster configurations could be interesting long term." This is exactly the type of feedback prospects wants to have at the NBA Draft Combine. Players with impressive measurements and good interviews are always going to garner attention from front offices. Egor Demin turning heads with strong NBA Combine
A year ago, Egor Demin was a name whispered in NBA Draft circles. Now, after a standout performance at the 2025 NBA Combine, the BYU freshman guard is the name on everyone's lips. At 6-foot-9, Demin entered Provo with the intrigue of a first-rounder, largely due to his unique size and feel for the game. But what he's showing in Chicago this week is something different — confidence, polish, and growth. The kind that turns promise into profit. Advertisement 'Word is circulating here in Chicago that BYU's Egor Demin is on the rise,' wrote NBA Draft analyst Matt Babcock. 'He measured well, and while I'm not usually a big fan of pro days, Demin looked great in his today. It feels like he might be peaking at the right time.' Demin averaged 9.2 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.0 rebounds during his freshman season. He struggled early in Big 12 play after a midseason injury but finished strong, helping lead BYU to the Sweet 16 — just the program's third in history. Scouts always loved his passing. What they questioned was his shot. That question is being answered — loudly — in front of executives from every NBA team. He's knocking down shots consistently. You pair that with his vision and frame? That's a starting NBA point guard. After shooting just 29.8% from deep at BYU, he's showing the touch and mechanics NBA teams crave in today's space-heavy game. Advertisement Make no mistake: Egor Demin isn't just showing potential anymore. He's showcasing readiness. Cougar fans, this might be your one season with him — but it's shaping up to be one to remember. The draft buzz is growing, and Demin's name is climbing. If he keeps this up, don't be surprised if his name is called inside the top 10 this June. BYU's Egor Demin shows true colors at NBA Combine
When Egor Demin stepped on the NBA Draft Combine floor this week, the buzz didn't come from a highlight reel dunk or silky jumper. It came from a tape measure. The former BYU point guard, who declared for the 2025 NBA Draft in April, turned heads with official measurements that make him one of the most intriguing backcourt prospects in this class. Advertisement Demin checked in at a legit 6'8 1/4' without shoes, with a wingspan of 6'10 1/4' and a standing reach of 8'9 1/2'. He is the tallest point guard or shooting guard ever measured at the combine. At 199.2 pounds, he's lean but strong enough to hold his own at the next level—especially for a player who spent most of his collegiate minutes running the offense. NBA scouts value size and versatility, and Demin's rare blend of length and ball-handling immediately stood out. Those are legitimate guard skills in a forward's body. That's not easy to find. The measurements only add fuel to a scouting profile that already intrigued teams. At BYU, Demin averaged 10.6 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds, showing flashes of playmaking brilliance and defensive upside. His shooting numbers—41.2% from the field, 27.3% from three—left room for improvement, but his physical tools suggest a higher ceiling than stats alone can show. Advertisement Originally projected as a top-10 pick early last season, Demin's stock dipped slightly due to inconsistent shooting. But his performance and profile in Chicago could push him back into Lottery consideration. 'And I'm not scared of any troubles that I could meet on this path.' That path just got a little clearer—and a lot more exciting. BYU fans may have only had one year with the Russian-born guard, but his journey is far from over. The Combine gave NBA execs a reason to circle his name again. Now, it's about proving he's more than just a measurement marvel. Cougar Nation, stay locked in—Demin's stock is rising fast. 2025 NBA Draft scouting report: Egor Demin, G, BYU
For a two-round mock draft and a big board with full scouting reports, check out my . Height: 6-9 • Weight: 190 • Class: Freshman • Age: 19 Summary: Demin has a rare ability at his size to make dazzling passes. But he's also struggled to shoot and create his own shot against lengthy defenders, making him more of a love-him or hate-him prospect than a sure thing. Comparisons: Josh Giddey, Anthony Black Playmaking: Demin is a fluid ball-handler for his size with the height to see over defenders and the vision to make any pass. He puts velocity on his passes and delivers them with accuracy. It's a natural skill for him, the way he works to manipulate defenders and then seamlessly fires creative passes off the dribble. Off-ball movement: If he doesn't become a primary creator down the line, his basketball IQ playing without the ball will come in handy. Before joining BYU, he played for Real Madrid and excelled within its motion system, showing strong instincts cutting and relocating into open space. Defense: Demin's size gives him defensive versatility. He moves well laterally and can use his length around the rim as a helper. Shooting: There aren't many indicators that inspire optimism in his shot. He has made under 70% of his free throws and doesn't have soft touch on tough layups or floaters. He made only 18.8% of his dribble-jumper 2s, 25% of his dribble-jumper 3s, and 27.1% of his catch-and-shoot 3s, per Synergy. Additionally, with stiff mechanics and a shaky ability to create his own shot against pressure, he clearly has quite a long way to go. Shot creation: Even though he moves gracefully, he lacks a quick first step and the burst to consistently turn the corner without the advanced handle to compensate. Most of his pull-up jumpers are heavily contested, and even his layups don't come easy. Despite his size, he isn't an above-the-rim finisher either which is especially an issue since he struggles scoring against physical contact.
