Moglix inaugurates bitumen facility in Uttar Pradesh with 28,000 MT monthly capacity

New Delhi: Moglix, a B2B e-commerce and supply chain technology company, will commence commercial production at its newly launched greenfield bitumen processing facility in Kosi Kalan, Mathura, from July 2025. The facility has a monthly processing capacity of over 28,000 metric tonnes, the company said. Developed under Moglix's manufacturing arm DRG Industries, the facility is spread across 3.5 acres and will manufacture a new range of high-performance bitumen products such as polymer-modified bitumen, microsurfacing-grade emulsions, and hard binders. The company said these materials are aimed at improving road surface durability, reducing maintenance cycles, and lowering carbon footprint. The facility will supply bitumen to infrastructure projects across states including Uttar Pradesh, NCR, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and also to neighbouring export markets like Nepal. 'Our roads are the veins of Viksit Bharat. Building them stronger and smarter requires materials that are not only durable but sustainable. DRG Industries is our commitment to building roads that last longer, perform better, and serve more—with responsibility at the core,' Moglix Founder & CEO Rahul Garg said. Microsurfacing, one of the key offerings from the facility, is globally used for sealing surface cracks, improving road friction, and enhancing road life. According to the company, microsurfacing can double the lifespan of pavements and reduce carbon emissions by up to 44% when compared to traditional resurfacing methods. The Kosi Kalan facility is equipped with advanced Denimotech mills, fully automated lines, and a dedicated in-house R&D centre. The plant uses biomass-fuelled boilers with scrubber systems and filter bags, which Moglix said is in line with its ESG roadmap for carbon-neutral processing. The company is also investing in indigenous research and development to create bitumen solutions tailored to India's terrain, climatic conditions, and traffic requirements. The plant is expected to generate local employment and support regional SME growth through vendor and contractor partnerships. Moglix plans to expand its bitumen manufacturing footprint to other regions in India as part of its broader infrastructure material strategy.
