Home Expo helps buyers support local businesses Dennis Epps, the Co-owner of Fong's Pizza and Executive Chef, said that leaving the 4th street location is bitter sweet. 'It's bittersweet, you know, Fourth Street is, it's a unique little little neighborhood. A little area.- You know, I've I've lived down here, you know, for 20, 25 years. So for me, this is, you know, my neighborhood. But to to say it's nostalgia it's tough. But I also know I've been over at the new place every day getting it ready and it's it's going to be exciting.' Epps said. Fong's Pizza's new location will feature patio space and an expanded menu. The new location is expected to open at the end of the month. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Fong's Pizza moving out of downtown Des Moines after 16 years

DES MOINES, Iowa — A favorite and unique pizza joint in Des Moines is moving on to a bigger and better place. On Wednesday Fong's Pizza announced it would be moving across the Des Moines River to the East Village. Right now Fong's sits in the 200 block of 4th Street, just off the Court Avenue Entertainment District. Starting in March it will make its way over to 317 East Court Avenue, the former home of Peace Tree Brewing Company. Extra snow machines prove a success at Seven Oaks as they stayed open during warm week Owners say the move will allow them to offer more for their customers. 'This move allows us to drastically expand our catering and carry out capabilities,' Andy Massoth, co-owner of Fong's, said in a press release. 'Of course guests can still plan to find a creative menu featuring specialties and decor that are all one of a kind.' 'We are putting Fong's signature spin on classic noodle and rice dishes as well as introducing new salads, expanding our appetizer offerings and even adding items to our late night menu,' Dennis Epps, co-founder and executive chef, said. 'There will be new twists on old favorites and some creative new items to enjoy when we open our doors in late March.' Fong's will close at their current location in late March and hopes to be up and running at their new location by the first week in April.
