Kansas City man charged in connection to deadly road rage shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 21-year-old Kansas City, Missouri man is facing charges in connection to a . Jackson County prosecutors this week charged Isaiah Francis with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. Two-year-old girl overdoses after ingesting methamphetamine, police say According to court documents, Kansas City police officers responded to the area of 75th Street and The Paseo around 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, for a shooting. When officers arrived on scene they located a man in the driver's eat of a green GMC Sierra. The victim was slumped over and was unresponsive. Officers located an apparent gunshot wound on the victim, identified as 66-year-old Dennis Griffin. He was taken to Research Medical Center where he later died. A witness told detective she was driving south on Swope Parkway when she saw the suspect vehicle speed around her. She said the suspect vehicle stood out to her due to the speed and aggressive way the suspect was driving through traffic. Court documents say the witness 'observed the victim vehicle and suspect to be engaged in road rage.' The witness said the road rage was so noticeable that she kept a safe distance away. She said as the two vehicle approached the intersection of 75th and Paseo, the victim intentionally cut off the suspect's vehicle. According to court documents, the witness said the suspect then drove up to the passenger side of the victim's vehicle and fired 4-5 shots into the truck. The suspect continued traveling south on Paseo and the witness pulled over and called 911.
