Drive to keep stray bulls off Deoghar streets
Dumka: In a bid to keep city roads free of traffic disruptions during the ongoing Shravani Mela, the Deoghar Municipal Corporation (DMC) has started catching stray animals and transporting them to shelters outskirts of the temple town.

More than a dozen stray bulls were caught overnight by a special team of catchers, who were roped in from Haryana, DMC's city commissioner Rohit Sinha said on Monday. "The animals were then taken to designated shelters in a vehicle outside the city," he said. Notably, the drive started keeping in mind the expected surge in footfall of devotees in the town on Monday, which is considered auspicious during the Shravan month.
DMC officials said the drive will continue after Shravani Mela concludes next month. "There have been incidents where motorists were knocked down from their vehicles by stray cattle, resulting in minor injuries. This would improve
