MoE's summer programme in South Sharqiyah starts July 13

Sur – Ministry of Education (MoE) will launch its 2025 summer programme under the theme 'Saifi: Communication and Growth' in South Sharqiyah starting Sunday, July 13 and ending on Thursday, July 24. The annual event reflects the ministry's ongoing commitment to engaging students during the summer break in meaningful and skill-building activities that contribute to their overall development. The programme is designed to make productive use of students' free time, nurture their talent, enhance their skills and reinforce values of national identity, loyalty and belonging. It seeks to provide a safe and enriching environment that supports character-building and community engagement among youth. According to Dr Othman bin Abdulrahman al Balushi, Director of Department of Career Guidance and Student Counselling and head of the programme's local committee, it offers an opportunity to channel students' energy in constructive activities. It also aims to cultivate their sense of responsibility, citizenship and connection to the homeland and leadership. The 2025 summer programme will feature a broad spectrum of enriching activities spanning social, cultural, scientific, literary, sports and entrepreneurial fields. It will also include voluntary initiatives and awareness sessions addressing social and educational issues conducted in collaboration with several government institutions. These sessions aim to promote positive values rooted in Omani society and Islamic teachings, while fostering innovation and encouraging students to explore their creative potential. Targeting students from Grade 5 to 11, the programme will be held at four centres across the governorate – Lubabah bint al Harith Centre in Sur, Al Hassan al Basri Centre in Al Kamil Wal Wafi, Uqbah bin Nafi Centre in Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, and Seeh Sanda Centre in Jalan Bani Bu Ali. A total of 400 students are expected to participate in this year's edition.
