This Morning's Alison Hammond makes major career move as she is set to front new Channel 4 show by the creators of The Great British Bake Off
Alison Hammond is set to lead a new Channel 4 show made by the creators of The Great British Bake Off. The This Morning star, 50, already has a jam-packed schedule joining Dermot O'Leary on ITV, fronting her own programme Alison Hammond's Big Weekend, filming For The Love Of Dogs in Battersea, and hosting Bake Off. And the TV icon has now added another show to her long list, and will present Your Song, a new Channel 4 programme set to air in the summer, according to The Sun. Produced by Love Production - who are behind the Great British Bake Off, Alison will tour Britain in the six-part series to watch members of the public preform songs with special significance to them. An insider told The Sun: 'Alison was the natural choice to present this, with her warm personality and ability to catch unguarded moments with the singers, together with chatting to the crowds.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Your Song will feature people who love singing — they may have been singing for a long time but not necessarily in public or on a stage, you can expect some unexpected performances.' Alison said she is 'really excited' for the new series and gushed over the emotional 'power' of music and singing. 'I'm excited about this new show, about real people telling us their stories through song, let's hit the road,' she added. MailOnline has contacted Channel 4 for comment. Alison is also set to join the new series of the hit Channel 4 show Celebrity Gogglebox alongside her son Aidan, 19. Producers were left impressed with the mother-son duo after they recently fronted a BBC Two holiday show, Florida Unpacked. They will now be among the new star pairings to appear on Gogglebox to raise money for Stand Up For Cancer, with the release date yet to be confirmed. In her personal life, Alison also recently revealed her health and fitness regime after dropping 11-stone. The presenter decided to lose weight after the death of her mother Maria - who had raised concerns over Alison's pre-diabetic diagnosis. She then revealed how she managed to lose 11-stone without the assistance of weight-loss jabs, giving an insight into her exercise plan with her personal trainer. Alison, who weighed 28-stone at her heaviest, told Heat: 'I've got a personal trainer - she's amazing, she trains me when I can train. 'If I'm working, I don't train, I'll go for a walk. 'But when I'm at home, I'll go and have a session with her in the morning, just an hour. It might be four days a week.' She also revealed her approach to her diet, saying she hasn't cut anything out completely but focuses on 'moderation'. 'I don't deny myself anything, I eat everything, but in moderation,' she added. Alison previously told how weight loss jabs weren't for her, opting against using them because she was 'frightened' of 'scary' stories surrounding them. She told Good Housekeeping UK: 'I think that, for people who need to use them, they're a good thing - but for me, as soon as I hear any scare story, I get frightened. 'So I haven't wanted to use them, but that's not to say I wouldn't in the future, and I certainly wouldn't look down on anyone who did.'

This Morning star reveals HUGE change to the show amid ITV cuts
A THIS Morning star has revealed a pretty seismic change to the show's rules amid the ITV cuts and subsequent bloodbath. Sweeping changes were announced earlier this month to ITV Daytime shows that will impact the likes of This Morning, Loose Women and Lorraine. 6 6 6 6 6 More than 220 jobs will be lost as part of the shake-up — meaning almost half of the 450 employed on the four flagship shows GMB, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will be let go. But amid the changes, This Morning have introduced a new rule. The show has long had an unwritten rule in place that meant presenters could not wear a specific item of clothing. All of the presenters - past and present - are known for being dressed smartly. Rochelle Humes, who is now a staple of the This Morning rotation, revealed the new rule. Ahead of an episode earlier this week, Rochelle took to TikTok to tell her fans about the rule change. The 35-year-old former star of The Saturdays said: "There's a new rule, we didn't used to be allowed to wear jeans, did we? "But we can wear jeans now. "This is amazing news for me." Reacting to her video on the social media platform, fans were quick to swoon over the outfit she had picked out for the show. This Morning viewers can't believe Dermot O'Leary's 'real age' as he and Alison Hammond celebrate his birthday on air "Smart yet casual yet fun & relaxed," said one. "Obsessed with this outfit," penned a second. Rochelle then appeared live on the show wearing a pair of light-wash River Island denim jeans. This isn't the only way the show has started to become more relatable. ITV's daytime TV schedule changes in full Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily. Lorraine will run from 9.30am-10am, on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year. During the weeks Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am. This Morning will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year. Loose Women will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot, again on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year. The changes will take effect from January 2026. Cat Deeley, who is one of the show's new anchors, was recently asked to embrace her Brummie accent. The star's Birmingham accent was softened during her years on American TV, but now she has been asked to lean back into it as to appeal to the UK audience. An ITV insider previously told MailOnline: "This Morning want presenters their audiences can relate to and there were worries Cat was too perfect and preened." This comes amid ITV's shocking shakeup that will see hundreds of people lose their jobs at the channel. Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily. This Morning's Dermot O'Leary leaves ITV show's chef red-faced after spotting major Eurovision blunder
THIS Morning host Dermot O'Leary left the show's resident chef cringing after calling her out on a massive Eurovision blunder. Dermot, 51, pointed out Clodagh McKenna 's faux pas as she got ready to whip up a plate of themed 'nibbles' for this weekend's contest. 6 6 6 Clodagh, 49, lifted up her plate and showed off a selection of traditional small bites from various Eurovision competing nations. But as she pointed to one of her savoury Danish pastries, Dermot asked: "Why has it got a Spanish flag on?" Clodagh insisted the pastries were sporting a Danish flag, telling him: "It isn't, it's Danish." Dermot replied: "I'm pretty sure that's the Spanish flag." Clodagh picked up one of her pastries that was decorated with a little red and white flag to give it a closer look. Looking embarrassed, she laughed: "I wasn't in charge of the flags!" Dermot was in fact correct. Clodagh's Danish pastries were decorated with mini yellow and red Spanish flags. The Danish flag is red with a white cross on. Dermot apologised to his This Morning co-star for embarrassing her over the blunder live on television. "Sorry... I just wanted to..." he said. Awkward moment Dermot O'Leary is blanked by chef However, when they returned for Clodagh's cooking segment later in the show, Dermot couldn't help but mention it again. The Spanish flags had been swapped for the correct Danish flags. Gesturing to her savoury pasties, he said: "Got the flag right." Clodagh laughed: "We quickly swapped it out!" Fans were quick to comment on the big mistake after tuning in to Friday's episode of This Morning. One wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "She proudly holds it up, still convinced it's a Danish flag—bless." Another posted emojis of both the Spanish and Danish flags along with a 'crying with laughter' face. "They're almost identical," they mused. Agreeing, another wrote: "Seriously though... How can you confuse these two?" Meanwhile, Dermot was joined on Friday's This Morning by Lisa Snowdon due to a last minute presenter shake-up. Lisa was drafted in at the last minute after Alison phoned in sick. Alison blamed her absence on a bad bout of hayfever, but Lisa told viewers: "She's had a major allergic reaction. She looks and feels terrible." 6 6 6
