Mission RCMP seek public's help in locating wanted 47-year-old woman
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Julie Matthew, according to the Mission RCMP.
Police in Mission, B.C., are requesting the public's help in finding a woman wanted for a number of offences, including assault.
Julie Matthew was recently convicted of robbery, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of stolen property in the B.C. Supreme Court, and was required to return to court for sentencing but failed to appear, Mission RCMP said in a statement Wednesday.
The offences relate to an incident that occurred in the Fraser Valley community of Deroche in 2022.
Police have since issued a warrant for Matthew's arrest.
'Julie is known to have ties to the communities of Hope, Langley and Surrey, but may have since travelled elsewhere,' Mounties said in the statement. Matthew, 47, is described by police as having a small, mono-colour tattoo on the left side of her neck.
Anyone who believes they have seen Matthew or has any information that could help police locate her are asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161, and quote file number 22-4299.
