Rita Ora, Brandy Returning for "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland"
Yara Sameh Rita Ora and Brandy are set to reprise their roles from the 'Descendants' film franchise in the upcoming fifth installment. The fifth movie, now titled 'Descendants: Wicked Wonderland,' will see Ora once again play the Queen of Hearts with Brandy again playing Cinderella. In addition, Paolo Montalban will return as King Charming and Melanie Paxson returns as the Fairy Godmother, making Paxson the only actor to appear in all five 'Descendants' films. The new additions join previously announced cast members Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, Liamani Segura, Brendon Tremblay, Alexandro Byrd, Kiara Romero, Joel Oulette, Zavien Garret, Ryan McEwen, Dayton Paradis, and Leonardo Nam. The pic is set to release on the Disney Channel and Disney+ in 2026. Per the official description, the movie 'explores what 'happily ever after' really means for Red (Cantrall) and Chloe (Baker) following their time-traveling adventures in the 2024 hit film 'Descendants: The Rise of Red.' Set primarily in present-day Wonderland with a host of new and familiar characters, this sequel delves into the warning at the end of the previous movie: There are consequences when you alter the fabric of time.' Kimmy Gatewood is directing from a script by co-executive producer Tamara Chestna, Dan Frey, and Ru Sommer. Returning to the franchise are executive producers Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh. The K-pop stars are all set to feature on Cantrall's latest song, as it has been confirmed by their agency. Production has begun on Descendants 5, the latest film in the franchise for Disney Channel and Disney+. The cast posted a new photo from the set today on Instagram, which you can see above. Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker reprise their roles as Princesses Red and Chloe, the daughters of the Queen of Hearts and Cinderella, respectively, in the new installment of the musical fantasy movie franchise about the teenage progeny of Disney's most iconic characters and villains. There's no more need to wonder about the future of the Descendants franchise: Disney has confirmed that a fifth movie is in the works, with several key players already set to return. Following the events of 2024's Descendants: The Rise of Red, the fifth installment finds Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker) facing the consequences of their recent time-bending journey. Though specifics about the plot remain under wraps, we know that the film will primarily take place in present-day Wonderland, with Leonardo Nam also returning as Maddox Hatter.
