iPhone 17 series: Apple likely to introduce new colours, models, and more
Apple's iPhone 17 series is expected to debut in early September 2025, and reports suggest the line-up may introduce a refreshed design, upgraded internals, and new colour options. Recently, an alleged iPhone 17 Pro model has been seen tested in the open, but not much could be made out of the leaked images. Now, a fresh set of images have appeared on the web pointing to visual changes across the line-up, including what appears to be a new "Desert Titanium" colour option. iPhone 17 colours: A fresh palette According to images reported by Chronicle, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models may be available in four finishes: Black, White, Dark Blue, and an orange-toned 'Desert Titanium', indicating Apple might be experimenting with warmer, sand-like hues for its premium tier. The iPhone 17 Air, an expected new addition replacing the current Plus model, is shown in Black, White, Light Blue, and Grey. The base iPhone 17 model may come in five shades: Black, White, Light Blue, Light Green, and Pink. What to expect from the iPhone 17 series iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max The Pro and Pro Max models are expected to feature a dual-finish design with an aluminium frame and a glass back to support MagSafe. The Apple logo may be repositioned, and the design could include a full-width camera bar, replacing the current corner bump. Camera upgrades are anticipated, including: A new 48MP telephoto sensor Multi-camera video support A sharper 24MP front camera Both models are likely to be powered by the A19 Pro chip, reportedly with more GPU cores than the standard A19 variant. iPhone 17 Air: The slimline iPhone Apple is expected to replace the Plus model with a new 'Air' variant. The iPhone 17 Air could feature: A 6.6-inch OLED display, positioned between the Pro and base models A slim profile measuring just 5.5mm, making it the thinnest iPhone yet A 48MP single rear camera A 24MP front-facing camera A battery capacity estimated to remain under 3,000mAh The Air model appears to be aimed at users who prefer a larger screen in a lightweight and sleek design.

Alleged iPhone 17 Pro test unit spotted in public with mysterious addition
An alleged iPhone 17 Pro tester unit has been spotted in public in the hands of a man, according to a post on X by the account @Skyfops. Adding to its legitimacy, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who is known for his accurate predictions, shared the same post, commenting, 'wow, this looks legit'. In the image, a man can be seen holding two iPhones. The iPhone in the background looks like a regular iPhone 16 Pro in the Desert Titanium colour, but the one in the foreground, which has a different camera module, appears to be the iPhone 17 Pro. iPhone 17 series is expected to launch in September.(Majin Bu) A closer look at the image reveals several details that corroborate to previously leaked rumours and also reveals something new. Here is what we know about the alleged iPhone 17 Pro test unit. iPhone 17 Pro Test Unit? What It Revealed On the iPhone in the man's hand, two sensors (could be the flash and LiDAR) are positioned on the far right of the rear panel, similar to what has been seen in previously leaked dummies, renders and images. Multiple tipsters have claimed that Apple will extend the camera module to the far right, and this image appears to support that. However, a new, mysterious cutout is present on the top of the phone. Just above the triple-camera setup, there is a cutout. Reports suggest that this could be a second Camera Control feature for the Pro models. Now, things get interesting because MacRumors, earlier this week, reported that a tipster contacted the publication claiming that the iPhone 17 Pro will have a second Camera Control button placed on top of the device, which would complement the existing Camera Control button. This new leak, coupled with the MacRumors story, adds weight to this theory. The tipster also told MacRumors that Apple could be working on an 8x optical zoom feature, a big increase from the 5x zoom on current iPhones. This seems a little odd, however, as an 8x zoom on the third camera would limit the options for portrait mode. Therefore, it depends on the implementation. Our take (based on what reports say) is that Apple will likely opt for a higher-resolution telephoto camera with an approximately 3.5x optical zoom range. It could then use in-sensor zooming, similar to the base iPhone 16 and iPhone 16e, to achieve a 2x crop. A 2x crop of this 3.5x zoom would result in an approximately 7x zoom, which is how Apple could achieve near-optical quality at that range. New Camera App Could Be In The Works Too The tipster also added that Apple might be developing an entirely new Pro camera app for the iPhone 17 Pro models, for both photos and videos. This would certainly be an interesting addition, as many users have commented that while Apple's camera systems are of a professional standard, they can be somewhat limiting, requiring reliance on third-party apps like Blackmagic Camera to achieve the ideal footage.

Leaked image shows off new iPhone 17 Pro colors, including the orange option
*Image credit — Majin Bu Apple is said to be experimenting with bolder colors on top of the exterior redesign for the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. A new image that has just surfaced gives us a look at some of these colors in a real-world environment, including the spiritual successor to Desert Titanium: an orange shade. Four of the possible new colors for the iPhone 17 Pro. | Image credit — Majin Bu The new colors shown in the image include a Titanium Gray, which is reportedly an option that Apple is considering but hasn't finalized yet. Alongside that, there is a really dark color that appears to be black, but the text next to it says that it's blue. It is, kind of. Perhaps Apple will name it Midnight Blue or something similar. The previously leaked orange color is also present, which is a sort of fierier Desert Titanium. In my opinion, it looked a lot better in fan-made renders than it does in real life. Lastly, we can also see a silver option, but orange isn't the only bold choice that Apple is considering this year for the iPhone 17 Pro. Because, not pictured here is a rumored Liquid Glass color option, which takes inspiration from the UI overhaul in iOS 26. According to reports, this new color will reflect differently under various lighting conditions, though it will mostly be a white hue. I think that sounds quite fun, and I'd wager that it will look a lot prettier than the new orange shade. Ultramarine on the iPhone 16 is a stunningly pretty color as well. | Video credit — Apple Of course, aside from new color options, the image shows off the redesigned rear camera island on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. The iPhone 17 Air will also feature an elongated camera island, though it will be a lot slimmer, and will heavily resemble the Google Pixel 9. If this new design isn't to your liking, however, then the base iPhone 17 will serve you just fine while looking like the base iPhone 16 . Now, all that remains to be seen is whether Samsung will also opt for bolder colors for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Because, let's be honest, even the online exclusive colors for the Galaxy S25 Ultra look relatively muted.
