When Jaya Bachchan wanted to slap Shah Rukh Khan over his fallout with Aishwarya Rai: ‘I haven't had the opportunity to..'
Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai are two of the biggest names in Indian cinema. Their on-screen chemistry in films like 'Josh', 'Mohabbatein' and 'Devdas' made them a favourite pair with fans. But beyond the spotlight and success, their relationship once took a sharp turn, one that sparked headlines and even led Jaya Bachchan to express her anger openly. From blockbusters to fallout In the early 2000s, Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai were at the peak of their careers. As per News18, After giving hits like 'Josh' and 'Devdas', they were set to appear together in more films. But things soon changed. Their professional bond suddenly soured for reasons that were never clearly revealed. Aishwarya later spoke about being dropped from several projects with Shah Rukh, including 'Chalte Chalte' and 'Veer Zaara'. These changes hit her career hard. While SRK later apologised, the damage had already been done. The two eventually made peace, but their friendship was never quite the same. Jaya Bachchan's honest words The fallout between the actors didn't just stay between them. It also caused a stir within the Bachchan family. Jaya Bachchan, who is Aishwarya's mother-in-law and also close to Shah Rukh, didn't hide her feelings. In a 2008 interview with People magazine, she was asked whether she still held anything against Shah Rukh. She replied, 'Of course, I do,' and added, 'I haven't had the opportunity to discuss it with him and I am going to speak to him about it. If he was at my home, I would have slapped him, just as I would my own son. But I have connected with him in my soul, and that's it.' Even though she was upset, Jaya also showed her fondness for him, saying, 'I have a weakness for Shah Rukh.' Jaya's reply when asked if SRK was invited to Aish-Abhishek wedding Another sign of the tension was Shah Rukh's absence at Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan 's wedding in 2007. At the time, reports claimed that Shah Rukh and Aishwarya were not even on speaking terms after their fallout during 'Chalte Chalte'. Jaya didn't beat around the bush when speaking about this. She said, 'Is Aishwarya going to invite him for the wedding? Let me tell you, very honestly, if we could have invited him, we would have changed the date of the wedding. I would like to give my family the freedom and the space.'

23 years of Devdas: Jackie Shroff remembers iconic film with throwback post
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 12 (ANI): It was the monsoon of 2002 when 'Devdas' first hit theatres, and cinema was never the same again. With Shah Rukh Khan playing the heartbroken Devdas, Aishwarya Rai as Paro, and Madhuri Dixit as Chandramukhi, the film left a strong mark on Indian cinema. As 'Devdas' clocked 23 years on Saturday, actor Jackie Shroff, who played Chunnilal in the film, shared his memories online. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he posted a special video clip featuring some emotional scenes from the film. Along with the post, he wrote, "#23YearsOfDevdas." The video began with a powerful moment between SRK's Devdas and Jackie's Chunnilal, followed by scenes with Kirron Kher, Aishwarya Rai, and Madhuri Dixit. Devdas, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was based on the classic novel by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The film was praised for its grand sets, music, and performances. It is still considered one of Bhansali's best works. Unlike movies, which have a happy ending, the main crux of 'Devdas' was its tragic ending. The sheer longing of a lover to see her beloved for one last time, as he dies on the streets, just to catch a glimpse of his 'Paro' lives rent-free in the hearts of people. The tragedy of 'Devdas' was something completely unforgettable, SRK as Devdas. Aishwarya as Paro, and Madhuri as Chandramukhi, the trio gave a flawless performance which tugged at the heartstrings of audiences. Apart from the lead actors, Kirron Kher, Jackie Shroff, Smita Jaykar, and Jaya Bhattacharya all did a commendable job in the movie. (ANI)

Meet Amitabh Bachchan's co-star and Zeenat Aman's uncle who acted in 500 films but couldn't afford a house or car; his son studied under a lamp post
Stories of old-time actors struggling in their later years aren't rare. Many big stars who ruled the film industry in the 1950s and 60s ended up with little to their name because they didn't think of saving for the future. This is exactly what happened with veteran actor Murad. He was seen alongside some of the biggest legends in Indian cinema, from 'Mughal-E-Azam' to 'Do Bigha Zamin'. But behind the fame, Murad's life was far from glamorous. Even after acting in over 500 films, he never owned a house or a car. His son, actor Raza Murad , recently spoke about this in an interview that shines a light on the tough truths of showbiz. What he shared is not just a touching look at his father's legacy but also a lesson on why planning for the future is so important. 'I witnessed difficulties in life' Speaking on the Filmy Charcha YouTube channel, Raza Murad opened up about how hard life really was behind the scenes. Despite Murad's long and iconic career, their family struggled with money. 'I witnessed difficulties in life,' Raza said, remembering his childhood days in Bhopal. He shared that their home didn't even have electricity. 'I used to study for my exams under a lamp post. I would start at midnight and finish at 6 am.' It's hard to believe that while Murad was busy acting in hit films, his own son was preparing for exams under the streetlights. No car, rented house, and no savings Murad was known for memorable roles in films like 'Devdas' (1955), 'Sanyasi', 'Yaadon Ki Baaraat' and 'Tarzan Goes to India' (1962). He was truly one of the most popular character actors of his time. Yet, Raza revealed a surprising truth. 'We never had a car. We used to live in a rented house,' he said. Many actors from the 1950s and 60s didn't think much about saving for the future. Raza added, 'Those actors should have planned for the future.' It shows how being famous doesn't always mean being rich, especially if you don't plan ahead. 'He lived like he wanted to' Even though their family faced money problems, Raza made it clear he never wanted to criticise his father's choices. 'He lived like he wanted to,' he said. Seeing these struggles, however, shaped Raza's own thinking. He decided early on that he wanted a more secure life. That's why the first thing he did after making it in films was to buy a house. Related to Zeenat Aman Not many people know this, but Murad was also related to Bollywood icon Zeenat Aman — she is his niece. The family gave Indian cinema two generations of unforgettable talent. A lesson behind the fame Murad's story is a touching reminder that life on screen is often very different from life off it. Though he acted in more than 500 films, he never owned a house or car. His son Raza's words give us a clear picture of the ups and downs behind the sparkling world of cinema.
