World of Inquiry's Dillon Tops Section Five Best
Devin Dillon was only called up to the World of Inquiry varsity basketball team in January. The eighth grader has turned into a big time addition.
He poured in 21 points in the state qualifier last week, including six three pointers. Dillion then followed with 15 more in the state quarterfinals powering the Griffins to a state final four berth and earning the top spot in this week's Section Five Best.
Section Five's boys composite bowling team also makes the list this week after winning a state championship over the weekend. Dallis Jones set a new Aquinas school record with a 7.7 second 60 meter dash competing in the New Balance national championship. Ne'Sean Fowlks was Mr. Clutch for Athena with a game tying three in the Class AA state qualifier and then blocking a half court heave to preserve a one point state quarters victory. Jordyn Dyring scored 59 points over two games that sent Hornell to Albany for a state semifinal date this weekend.
