Michigan State football to host 4-star in-state OT Dewey Young next month
Michigan State football will reportedly host one of the top in-state prospects in the 2027 class for an unofficial visit in early September. Dewey Young of Kalamazoo, Mich. will reportedly take an unofficial visit to Michigan State for the Boston College game on September 6, according to a report from Allen Trieu of 247Sports. Young -- who is an offensive tackle prospect in the 2027 class -- also has visits scheduled to Kansas, Penn State and Indiana over the first few weeks of the college football season. Young is a four-star prospect with a recruiting rating of 92.88 in 247Sports composite system. He is ranked as the No. 19 offensive tackle and No. 189 overall prospect in the 2027 class. He is also listed as the No. 3 player from Michigan. Michigan State extended an offer to Young in May, and is one of nearly 15 programs to offer him, according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Boston College, Colorado, Florida State, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Miami (OH), Minnesota, Missouri, Purdue, Toledo, West Virginia and Western Michigan. Michigan State gets into the mix with an in-state 4-star offensive lineman Michigan State football is gearing up for a massive month of June, with the Spartans trying to secure a solid 2026 recruiting class. That doesn't mean the Spartans aren't looking ahead to the 2027 recruiting class, though. The latest prospect to receive an offer from Michigan State is an in-state four star. Dewey Young, a native of Kalamazoo that plays at Kalamazoo Central, received an offer from Michigan State on Monday. Young is a 6-foot-5, 285 pound offensive tackle. As a four star prospect, Young ranks as the No. 192 overall recruit in the 2027 recruiting class, while also ranking as the No. 19 offensive tackle and No. 3 player in the state of Michigan. Alongside Michigan State, Young possesses offers from Colorado, Indiana, Kansas and Pitt.
