Hotel revenues in Abu Dhabi reach Dh847 million in April 2025
2 July 2025 17:01 ABU DHABI (WAM)Hotel establishments in Abu Dhabi generated revenues amounting to Dh847 million in April 2025, comprising Dh540 million from rooms, Dh256 million from food and beverage, and Dh51 million from other to preliminary data released by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and issued by the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi, hotels across the emirate welcomed approximately 531,000 guests in March figures underscore Abu Dhabi's growing appeal as a global tourism destination, supported by a diverse range of accommodation options and elevated service standards.A total of 172 hotel establishments were in operation during the month, offering 34,383 hotel rooms. The total number of guest nights exceeded 1.52 million, with an average occupancy rate of 87 percent. The average revenue per available room reached from non-Arab Asian countries topped the list with 149,000 hotel guests, followed by European visitors with 148,000, and UAE nationals with 97,000. The figures highlight sustained growth in the emirate's tourism sector and reinforce its status as a preferred destination for international category, five-star hotels received the highest number of guests with 265,000, led by 95,000 European visitors. Four-star hotels hosted 143,000 guests, while hotels rated three stars or below received 63,000 guests. Additionally, 61,000 guests stayed in hotel apartments.

GPSSA: Dh 834.5 million worth of pension payments to be disbursed on Wednesday
24 June 2025 13:38 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)The General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) said on Tuesday that this month's pension payments will be disbursed on Wednesday, with funds to be deposited directly into beneficiaries' bank total value of June's pension payments amounts to Dh834,511,656.49, compared to Dh782,578,834.21 in June 2024, marking an increase of Dh51,932,822. The number of beneficiaries also rose to 49,984 from 48,335 in June 2024, an increase of 1, a press statement, the GPSSA urges pensioners and beneficiaries to update their data regularly, either with the GPSSA or with banks, to ensure timely pension disbursement. It also emphasises the importance of using the digital services available through the Ma'ashi platform, such as updating data, enquiring about pensions or requesting certificates which have been specifically designed to serve pensioners. The disbursed pensions cover civilians who are subject to the provisions of applicable Pension and Social Security Laws, as well as beneficiaries whose files are managed by the GPSSA on behalf of the Ministry of Finance, under the pension laws applicable to them. Abu Dhabi: 15 new private nurseries to add 1,250 seats after getting licences; full list with fees
Fifteen private nurseries were given licences by Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek), providing residents with more options to nurture their children's early development and potential. The new educational facilities will add 1,250 seats across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, the authority said on Monday. Here's a full list of the nurseries which got the licences: British Orchard Nursery in Al Nahyan - Abu Dhabi, with an average fee of Dh17,750 Apple Field Nursery, Al Manhal- Abu Dhabi, with average fees amounting to Dh24,000 British Home Nursery, Al Bahyah - Abu Dhabi, with average fees totaling Dh24,000 Little Hand Nursery, Al Aamerah - Al Ain, with average fees of Dh24,000 Learning Tree Nursery, Madinat Al Riyad - Abu Dhabi, with average fees at Dh25,000 Little Genius Nursery, Zayed City - Al Dhafra, with average fees of Dh25,900 Little Smarties Nursery, Khalifa City - Abu Dhabi, with average fees amounting to Dh26,000; Maple Tree International Nurseries, Reem Island - Abu Dhabi, with average fees totaling Dh26,550; Kids Fantasy Nursery, Mohamed bin Zayed City - Abu Dhabi, with average fees of Dh27,000 and Small Stars Nursery, Madinat Al Riyad - Abu Dhabi, with average fees of Dh30,000. Thinkers Planet Nurseries, Bani Yas - Abu Dhabi, with an average fee totaling Dh32,000; Tiny Dreams Nursery, Al Nahyan - Abu Dhabi, with an average fee amounting to Dh36,000; Jack and Jill Nursery, Al Raha - Abu Dhabi, with average fees being Dh45,000 and Redwood Nurseries in Al Kasir - Abu Dhabi with average fees at Dh51,375 Redwood Nurseries in Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi with average fees at Dh51,375 ADEK carefully assessed multiple factors before granting approval to ensure these fees are reasonable and transparent. These include operational costs such as rent, staffing expenses to maintain appropriate child-to-teacher ratios and investments in educational materials and safety measures. Fees are also evaluated based on market trends and the sustainability of services. "By taking these factors into account, parents can be assured that nursery fees are structured to support a safe, engaging and developmentally enriching start for their children," Adek said in a statement. A total of 225 private nurseries with 27,791 seats provide nurturing environments that support children's cognitive, social, and emotional development during their formative years - critical for their future academic success and personal growth. On Friday, Abu Dhabi said it is designing an assessment system for services offered to young children, other than nurseries and schools. The assessment system will employ a set of criteria, based on global leading practices but customised to the UAE's culture, values and context.
