Bheda Tigers storm into KPL final
District Sports Officer Govt of Sindh Hajra Nawab graced the occasion as the chief guest and gave Man of the Match award to Mohammed Afzal. PHOTO: KPL Bheda Tigers outclassed Dhara Dabang by 8 wickes in the first semifinal and stormed into KPL final at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. In the final, Bheda Tigers will be meeting the winners of second semifinal which will be played between Buchra Warriors and defending champion Tanger Star. In the prize distribution ceremony to be held after the final, Honorable Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori will be the chief guest and will distribute the prizes amoung the finalist teams and officials. He will be accompanied by Deputy Convener (MQM) and MNA Dr. Farooq Sattar. Earlier, Dhara Dabang batting first were restricted to 156-8 in allotted 20 overs. Saqib Khan was the top scorer with 46 off 22 balls with one four and six sixes while Mohammed Taha contributed 32 off 28 balls with three fours and one six. In reply, Bheda Tigers reached the target of 159-2 in just 12.1 overs. Experienced first-class campaigner Mohammed Afzal struck an aggressive century (123) to power Behda Tigers into the final. The right-handed Afzal plundered eight beautiful boundaries and twelve towering sixes in his century.

Dhara Dabang secure first win in KPL

PHOTO: KPL Dhara Dabang claimed their first win of the ongoing Khatri Premier League Season 3 floodlight T20 cricket tournament at the historical Asghar Ali Shah Stadium in Karachi. They defeated debutant team Wada Hunters by 5 wickets, thanks to an aggressive 44 by opening batter Usama AB, a brilliant match-winning 75 by Karachi's emerging first-class all-rounder Mohammad Talha, and a responsible 28 by captain Mohammad Shahid Sagar. At the end of the match, Wada Hunters franchise owner Mohammad Arif, the chief guest, presented the Player of the Match award to Mohammad Talha for his outstanding 75-run innings. He was accompanied by Mohammad Saleem DS, sponsor Abdul Ghaffar Bheda of Bheda Traders, and Imran Choudhry, captain of Bheda Tigers. Earlier, Wada Hunters batting first, posted 181 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to a blistering 67 off 31 balls by Moin Ali Kachi (which included 4 boundaries and 7 towering sixes) and a quick 23-ball 28 by Shehryar Ghani (featuring 3 sixes and 2 fours). Rehan Soneja took 1 wicket for 29 runs. Asad Akhtar also chipped in with 28 runs off just 12 balls, smashing 3 sixes and 2 fours. For the winning side, Saqib Khan picked up 2 wickets, while Mohammad Ashfaq, Mohammad Nasir, and Mohammad Taha took one wicket each. In reply, Dhara Dabang chased down the target of 186 in 18.4 overs, losing just five wickets. Star performer Mohammad Taha smashed 75 runs off 67 balls (1 four, 8 sixes). Rehan Soneja bowled brilliantly, taking 2 wickets for just 8 runs, while captain Liaquat Ali and Shoaib Soneja claimed one wicket each. The match was officiated by umpires Mohammad Rehan and SM Baar, while international scorer Rashid Aslam served as the official scorer.
