Edu dept pulls the plug on two more FIITJEE centres over illegal ops
Noida: The education department has cancelled the registration of two FIITJEE centres in the city, marking another setback for the coaching company already embroiled in a controversy over abrupt closures of classes across Delhi-NCR. The district inspector of schools (DIOS) revoked the licences of the centres in Knowledge Park 3 and Sector 62, citing unauthorised operations following the previous owner's departure. The centres, with around 500 students enrolled in them, continued functioning without renewed registration, prompting legal scrutiny. The controversy unfolded when Ramesh Batlish, the former head of FIITJEE's Noida centres, approached the DIOS office in April, alleging misuse of his credentials after his departure in Jan. "After thorough investigation, the registration for both FIITJEE centres was cancelled with immediate effect. Parents are hereby notified that any new enrolments by these centres will be illegal," said Dharamveer Singh, DIOS, Noida. An inspection revealed that the centres were operating under 'FIITJEE Franchise Global Limited', managed by Mohit Rajput, who presented a memorandum of understanding during the inspection. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 2025: Steel Suppliers From Mexico At Lowest Prices (Take A Look) Steel Suppliers | search ads Search Now Undo "The institutes were not even listed as FIITJEE Private Ltd. In Jan this year, the abrupt shutdown of a Raj Nagar centre left over 800 engineering aspirants stranded weeks before their JEE (Mains) and board examinations. The incident led to multiple FIRs.

Beat the heat! Govt schools to close for summer on May 20 in Noida
Noida: With summer at full tilt and the mercury expected to soar, the education department announced school closures for summer breaks for all govt and aided schools under the UP board from classes 1 to 12, from May 20 to June 30. Several private schools have also announced early summer holidays for junior sections, some starting as early as May 16. For senior sections, summer vacations will start as usual from June 1. District school inspector Dharamveer Singh said summer vacations for all govt schools would start on May 20. "Schools have been allowed to organise summer camps between May 21 and June 10," he said. On Thursday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal. Nights were warm at 25.4 degrees. Over the next week, the temperature is likely to hover around 41 degrees, IMD said. "Given the rise in mercury levels in the past few days and the IMD's predictions, summer breaks for junior classes from nursery to class 5 will start from Friday. For senior sections, it will start as usual from June 1," Neha Sharma, principal at Apeejay School, said. "In case the temperature goes up further and there are official orders on school closure for senior sections too, from the DM or education officials, the school will abide by the same. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 2025 Top Trending local enterprise accounting software [Click Here] Esseps Learn More Undo "Schools have, meanwhile, restricted outdoor activities for all students. A senior education officer told TOI that summer camps can be organised in the morning hours, preferably from 7 am to 10 am when it is not as hot. "It is advisable that schools now restrict outdoor activities for students, especially between 10 am and 3 pm," the officer said. "There are several schools that don't provide AC buses. Classes get over by the afternoon when the heat is at its peak. It is very difficult for children to return from school at that time," she said.
