Add The Botanical Brunch at folly Brasserie to your weekend plans
Brunch in a glasshouse, with beef wellington and bubbly? Sounds about perfect for summer vibes. Set in a conservatory-like setting surrounded by olive trees, black-and-white tiled flooring and tucked away in the garden grounds of Address Montgomerie, the Botanical Brunch at folly Brasserie offers a refreshing change of pace. Running every Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm, you've got two chances to work it into your plans. You can expect top-notch food, decor blooming with flowers, vines and trees, and music and entertainment that'll have you tapping your feet without even realising it. Right on theme, the food is fresh and seasonal and plated to share. The brunch begins with a run of small starters brought to the table: oysters, beef tartare with confit egg, folly's signature chips and wagyu beignets shaved with fresh truffle. Yes, it's indulgent, but that's all part of the charm. There's also a lineup of deliciously summery salads – Dorset crab with apple and cucumber, and heirloom tomatoes with stracciatella and gazpacho. Next, fork into a Beef Wellington wrapped in golden pastry and served with a thyme and red grape jus and roast monkfish dressed in caviar butter. Sides are generous, the sort you pass around without a second thought: mash so smooth you'll be coming back for more and more servings, herb parmentier potatoes and sautéed greens layered with nutty pesto and parmesan. Just when you think you're done, desserts land and you'll want to save some space for it (if you can). There's baked chocolate with blood orange sorbet, a delicate white chocolate pavlova, and olive oil ice cream finished with a crisp made from sourdough. If that's not your thing, the cheese trolley usually does the trick. Drinks flow alongside, with packages starting from Dhs350 for the soft drinks option. If you're going deluxe, it's Dhs595, or Dhs795 if you're keen to keep the bubbly coming. This garden-inspired setting and the ingredients-first dishes combine to offer a perfectly beautiful afternoon experience – like a lunch dressed in its Sunday finest. From Dhs350. Every Sat and Sun, 1pm-4pm. Address Montgomerie, @follydubai. (043631248).
