Supreme Court urges Muslims to look for Dhul Hijjah crescent on Tuesday
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Saudi Supreme Court has called on Muslims across the Kingdom to look for the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah on Tuesday evening, 29 Dhul Qada, corresponding to May 27. In a statement issued on Sunday, the Supreme Court urged anyone who sights the crescent moon with the naked eye or through binoculars to promptly report to the nearest court and submit their testimony or contact the nearest town center for assistance in reaching the nearest court. The Supreme Court expressed hope that those capable of sighting the moon will join the committees established for this purpose in various regions of the Kingdom. "They will receive reward from God for participating in this as it promotes cooperation in righteousness and piety and benefits all Muslims," the Supreme Court added in its statement.

Arrival Of Umrah Pilgrims Will Start On June 11 As Saudi Arabia Announces Calendar For Next Umrah Season
Foreign pilgrims' arrival for the next Umrah season will start on Dhul Hijjah 15, corresponding to June 11, 2025, according to the official Umrah calendar announced by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for the year 1447. The calendar consists of all the relevant information such as key dates for visa issuance, agreements with foreign agents, and deadlines for entry and departure for the pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom. According to the ministry, visa issuance for Umrah will commence on 14 Dhul Hijjah 1446, corresponding to June 10, 2025, followed by the official start of pilgrim arrivals on 15 Dhul Hijjah 1446. Contracts with foreign agents to define services for pilgrims must be finalized by 29 Dhul Qada 1446, corresponding to May 27, 2025. Preparations for the new Umrah season began on March 25 with the launch of the external agent qualification service via the 'Nusuk' platform and the 'Umrah Path' system. Agreements between Umrah companies and external agents started signing on April 14 during the Hajj and Umrah Services Forum 2025. The calendar also includes important cut-off dates. The final deadline to issue Umrah visas is 1 Shawwal 1447, corresponding to March 20, 2026, while the last date for pilgrims to enter the Kingdom is 15 Shawwal 1447, corresponding to April 3, 2026. Pilgrims must depart by 1 DhulQada 1447 (April 18, 2026). Additionally, the ministry noted that the acceptance of external agent qualification requests will stop by 1 Sha'ban 1447 (January 20, 2026), which is also the deadline for approving their contracts with Umrah timeline is part of the ministry's strategic planning to ensure a smooth and well-organized Umrah season, enhancing services for pilgrims from around the world.

Haramain Railway increases seats by 400,000 to transport pilgrims during Hajj season
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) will provide nearly two million seats for pilgrims traveling via the Haramain High-Speed Railway as part of its operational plan for the Hajj season of 2025. This marks an increase of 25 percent or 400,000 seats, compared to the previous season. This increase confirms SAR's full preparedness to serve pilgrims in accordance with the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and quality. During this year's Hajj season, 4,768 trips will be operated between Dhul Qada 1 (April 29) and Dhul Hijjah 20. The Haramain High-Speed Railway runs along a 453-kilometer track connecting five main stations: Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah's Sulaymaniyyah station, King Abdulaziz International Airport station and King Abdullah Economic City station, facilitating smooth and comfortable transport between the two holy cities. The Haramain High-Speed Railway plays a key role in transporting pilgrims as part of the Kingdom's modern mobility system. It is the fastest mode of transport between Makkah and Madinah, covering the distance in about two hours. As one of the ten fastest passenger trains in the world, the Haramain Railway operates at speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour. Its fleet of 35 trains, each with a capacity of 417 seats, produces zero carbon emissions, making it an environmentally friendly solution that also helps reduce pressure on the road network and enhances the quality of transport for pilgrims. SAR leverages its experience and capabilities to provide safe and efficient transportation services that facilitate pilgrims' movement between the two holy cities. Its operational plan is part of a broader national effort to serve pilgrims and reflects its commitment to collaboration with various government entities. As a national enabler of smooth and rapid pilgrim transport, SAR contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aim to elevate the quality of services provided to pilgrims and ensure a sustainable and spiritually fulfilling journey.

2 arrested in Riyadh for attempting to facilitate visit visa to perform Hajj illegally
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Hajj Security Forces arrested a Saudi citizen and Yemeni resident, who applied for visit visas for individuals outside the Kingdom, through commercial entities that colluded with them, to enable them to perform Hajj illegally. They were found to have violated Hajj regulations and instructions. The arrested persons were referred to the competent authority to enforce the legally prescribed penalties against them. The Public Security warned that a financial fine of up to SR100000 will be slapped on anyone who submitted an application to issue visit visa of any type for a person who performed or attempted to perform Hajj without a permit, or entered the city of Makkah and the holy sites or stayed there from the first day of Dhul Qada (April 29) until the end of the 14th of Dhul Hijjah, and the fines are multiplied by the number of people involved in the violations.
