Diana Penty: OTT is more demanding and more immersive than films

Diana Penty at the recently concluded DTFW "All fashion weeks take me back to my modelling days. It is like getting in touch with my roots… there's nostalgia,' said Diana Penty , right before her maiden walk at the Delhi Times Fashion Week. The Chhaava actress spoke about working on her first OTT project and her idea of fashion. 'Walking the ramp is about enjoying the vibe' On walking the ramp, Diana said, 'I have been on the ramp so many times that now, it is just about enjoying the vibe. If it's a well-choreographed show, with good music, you just get the feels. Having said that, one fear still remains –I don't want to fall!' 'Being in front of the camera has taught me to carry myself with confidence. Going back to the ramp after facing the film camera, brings a sense of ease,' said Diana. Diana Penty started her journey as a model 'OTT gives you more space to experiment and improvise' Diana, who is currently working on an OTT project, shared that working on the medium has been different than films. 'Delving into a longform OTT project is way more demanding and more immersive than a film, as it requires more working hours, giving the actor more time to stay with the character and hence more creative satisfaction. ' 'I like to spend my weekend doing nothing, chilling on the couch with Victoria' With packed schedules, Diana treasures her downtime. "The best way for Diana to unwind is to do nothing. I wake up with no agenda. I like to do things as and when I feel like. I hang out on my favourite couch with a cup of tea or coffee and just stare into space. My favourite couch happens to be Victoria's favourite too - she is on one end and I'm on the other, and we just chill.' A few glimpses of Diana's weekend 'Comfortable yet chic is ideal for me' With straight lines, solid colours, classic cuts and co-ords – Diana's summer wardrobe is all about comfort. Talking about her style, the actress said, 'Fashion for me is self-expression. It has a lot to do with what I'm feeling on a given day, the message I want to send across that day. It is a reflection of my mind space. There is no fixed sense of style really, but it has always been minimal. If I am just chilling, going out with friends, I want to be comfortable. Comfortable yet chic is ideal for me.' Check out our list of the latest Hindi , English , Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam , and Kannada movies . Diana Penty Redefines Power Dressing In A Chic Bomber Jacket And Skirt Combo

Actor Diana Penty is serving chic with one Instagram post at a time! While her minimalistic approach exudes chic vibes, her effortless power dressing style has often paved the way for other fashion enthusiasts. Her outfit adventures only got better when she combined her street style with business formals. This time, Diana stunned in a black bomber jacket, which she paired with a short black skirt and black trousers. The jacket, which appeared to be made of a satin-like material, featured a ribbed collar, cuffs, and hem. The buttoned-down detail in the middle elevated the formal aspect of the outfit. The short skirt in a flared style incorporated a peplum detail at the hem, adding a touch of volume and shape to her silhouette. She wore the skirt over high-waisted black trousers with matching pointed boots. For accessories, Diana donned tinted sunglasses, but what caught our attention was her super long, sparkly nail extensions. A sleek, wavy hairstyle and natural glam, consisting of kohl-rimmed, mascara-laden eyes, smoky eyelids, and nude lip colour completed Diana's chic style to perfection. Diana Penty: Sometimes, the best opportunities in life come when you least expect them; for me, it was turning an actor

In the heart of New York's fashion scene, Diana Penty was already making waves as successful model. Little did she know, a singular phone call would propel her into a life-changing trajectory. "I was contacted by Dinesh Vijan and Homi Adajania, who were casting for a new role. I flew to Mumbai thinking it would be a brief, casual meeting," recalls Diana. 'But to my surprise, they immediately saw me as the perfect fit for the immediately saw me role of Meera in Cocktail (2012), particularly because my natural shyness and uncertainty aligned with the character they envisioned.' What followed was a serendipitous series of events. Diana was asked to audition on the spot, and then a second audition followed soon after. 'When they told me I had the part, I was in complete shock. I must've asked them at least a dozen times if they were certain 1 was the right choice. I simply didn't have the confidence in myself at that point. But they assured me, and that's how acting found me- unexpectedly, and with a touch of fear,' Diana smiles. 'Sometimes, the best opportunities in life come when you least expect them.' Today, Diana is celebrated not only for her cinematic success in films such as Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018) and Chhaava (2025), but for a grace and elegance that extends beyond the screen. With a strong presence both at the box office and in the public eye, she is a true force to be reckoned with in the industry. Yet, navigating her career newcomer without prior industry ties was no small feat. 'The first film often feels like it chooses you if it clicks, it can thrust you into the spotlight almost overnight. But it's what you do afterward that truly defines your path," Diana shares thoughtfully. "Once you're in the public eye, the pressure to make the 'right' choices is immense. There are expectations, and a constant effort to break or live up to certain perceptions. And it's not always easy especially when you're still discovering your voice as an actor and trying to understand which roles excite you, challenge you, and align with who you want to become," she says. As our exclusive cover shoot unfolds, the photographer, impressed by her radiant natural beauty, comments, "No Photoshop needed." Diana beams, calling it "the best compliment she has ever received. It's a reflection of her effortless authenticity, something that transcends the screen and is embedded in every aspect of her persona. When discussing her approach to fashion, Diana says, "For me, fashion is a deeply personal expression. It's not about trends but about authenticity-it's a reflection of who you e, how you feel, and your individuality. As I evolve, so does my style. Fashion changes with time, experiences, and the person you are in the moment." As our time together draws to a close, we ask Diana about the biggest lesson she's learned in the industry. She reflects, 'Patience. I've always considered myself a patient person, but this industry has taught me patience beyond what I thought possible. I've learned that no matter how hard you work or how much you plan, there are so many variables you cannot control. What you can control is your effort, your personal growth, and the attitude you choose to embrace each day.' Chilling at home "Comfort is key-pajamas and an oversized tee." Lunch with friends - "Jeans and a cute top." Stepping out for work "It depends on where I'm going. If it's a shoot, 1 prefer something comfortable, like track pants and a sweatshirt. If it's a meeting, I opt for something understated, yet chic."
