Police have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted outside Digbeth Coach Station. The victim was walking past the station at 6am on July 28 when he was punched multiple times by three attackers. He fell and hit his head after being brutally punched to the ground. West Midlands Police today issued CCTV images of three men the force would like to identify following the attack as they said they 'believe they may be able to help us with our investigation'. A GIRL under 16 has been "sexually assaulted" at a city centre nightclub. An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping the girl at a nightclub in Digbeth, Birmingham last Sunday. West Midlands Police have launched an urgent investigation into the assault. The man has since been released on bail while inquiries continue. The force said: "On Sunday, July 27, the venue was open and trading. 'During the nights trading a serious assault took place inside the venue. 'This matter is a serious crime by virtue of the sentence tariff for the offence alleged. 'West Midlands Police have serious concerns for the promotion of the licensing objectives at this premises. 'The premises have been carrying out licensable activity when the incident occurred and the premises has been in breach of its operating conditions of its premises licence. 'In my opinion immediate steps are required that can best be achieved through the summary review procedures.' 1

An award-winning 18th-century pub in Birmingham is to reopen just three months after it was Anchor in Digbeth closed in June due to "financial constraints", with dozens of customers "devastated" by the Peter Connolly, who runs nearby music venue Nortons Digbeth, said it was a "great honour" to take on the Grade II listed pub, which he will reopen in August."The Anchor is a hugely significant pub in terms of tradition and heritage. Skip hire company fined for illegal Digbeth waste site

New home for music venue Birmingham Forum after closure

Promoters have found a new home for a music venue which was unexpectedly forced to Birmingham shut when the city's Corporation Square building, which served as base to the venue, was closed by landlords in Global Venues said the closure was "devastating", describing Forum as part of Birmingham's "rich musical legacy".The company has since secured the former Roller Jam site in Digbeth and confirmed it would reopen the venue as Forum Digbeth. The site would undergo phased renovations, Global Venues said, and have a capacity of 2,000 people, along with a "raw, warehouse-style aesthetic".The D&B Audoitechnik sound system from the former Forum Birmingham has also been installed at the site and was debuted during a preview show with Uncle Waffles on 31 Chauhan of Global Venues said he was "extremely excited" about the revival, adding of future shows that there was "world-class talent" in the company has yet to confirm when the full opening of Forum Digbeth will take place.
