Conduct 3 mandatory parent-teacher meet in all schools of state: CM Sai

Raipur: Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai has directed all schools across the state will now conduct three mandatory parent-teacher meetings each academic year, designed not only to discuss academic performance but to build a collaborative ecosystem between school and home, to strengthen the role of parents in a child's education journey. According to the guidelines issued by School Education Secretary Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, the first parent-teacher meeting will be held in the first week of Aug, while the second and third meetings will take place within 10 days of the quarterly and half-yearly examinations. District collectors and education officers have been instructed to develop implementation plans and ensure that these meetings are executed uniformly and meaningfully in every govt and aided school across Chhattisgarh. These meetings will go beyond report card discussions. They aim to foster holistic development by providing parents with practical guidance on creating a positive learning environment at home. Topics will include establishing a healthy daily routine, managing exam stress, encouraging open communication, and building a child's confidence. Schools will also raise awareness about initiatives like "Bagless Saturdays", which focus on relieving academic pressure through creative activities. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Providers are furious: Internet access without a subscription! Parents will be encouraged to ensure their children attend regular health check-ups and participate in certificate camps that help them secure essential documents like caste, income, and residence certificates. The concept of "Nyota Bhojan"—community-shared meals—is also being promoted to reinforce school-community ties and social inclusion. An important focus of the campaign is digital literacy for families. Parents will be introduced to key learning tools such as the Diksha App, E-Jadui Pitara, and Digital Library platforms. The goal is to help parents understand and support their child's use of digital learning resources at home, making education more interactive and accessible even outside the classroom. The school education department officers said that the first meeting in August will be conducted in a grand and dialogue-centric manner across all schools, setting the tone for subsequent meetings. These sessions will not only provide academic updates but will also touch upon children's extracurricular progress, health, personality development, and social behaviour. This parent-teacher collaboration model reflects CM Sai's broader vision to ensure that home and school function as equal partners in nurturing the next generation. By aligning community, family, and educational institutions, Chhattisgarh hopes to set a new national benchmark in inclusive, student-centered education.
