Varanasi: An orientation and induction programme, 'Diksharambh', for the new entrants of IIT (BHU) was organised at Swatantrata Bhawan on Thursday to welcome the newly admitted undergraduate students. The event aimed to introduce the freshers to the academic environment, resources, and support systems of the institute, helping them embark on their educational journey with confidence and clarity. During the orientation, the students were briefed about the various academic and co-curricular activities offered at IIT (BHU), along with key institutional values and expectations. Addressing the event, IIT (BHU) director, Prof Amit Patra, said that IIT (BHU) offers all the resources and guidance necessary for the holistic development of the students. "The day you start helping others selflessly, you begin to become a true leader," he said. IIT (BHU) welcomes freshers in Varanasi; ‘Diksharambh' orientation begins with focus on student journey

VARANASI: An orientation and induction programme, Diksharambh, was held at Swatantrata Bhawan on Thursday to welcome newly admitted undergraduate students of IIT ( BHU ). The programme aimed to familiarise freshers with the academic environment, resources, and support systems of the institute, helping them begin their educational journey with confidence and clarity. During the session, students were introduced to the various academic and co-curricular opportunities at IIT (BHU), as well as the institution's core values and expectations. Addressing the gathering, IIT (BHU) Director, Professor Amit Patra, emphasised the importance of selfless leadership and personal growth. 'The day you start helping others selflessly, you begin to become a true leader. And when people start loving you and turning to you for advice—that's when you will know you have truly earned your place and achieved success,' he said. Before the student session, the director and other institute officials held an interactive session with the parents of the new entrants. Parents shared their thoughts and raised queries regarding the academic journey ahead. The Diksharambh programme will continue for the next seven days. During this period, students will be introduced to various departments, laboratories, the central library, student activity centres, and other essential facilities on campus.
