This Actress Romanced Father-Son On Screen, Injured After Actor Overdid Kiss Scene
1/6 Many actresses have had the opportunity to play the heroine alongside leading heroes in Indian cinema, and as they reach such heights, their remuneration often increases. Bollywood has always been at the forefront in this regard. However, some actresses have also faced challenging situations. Recently, news surfaced that a prominent star who played the heroine of both a father and son experienced a distressing incident, causing a stir. Madhuri Dixit began her acting career at the age of 17, debuting in the film Aabodh. Her performance in her first film garnered attention, and following some initial successes, her roles in films like Tezaab (1988), Dil (1990), Beta (1992), Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (1994), and Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997) distinguished her as a standout actress. However, a troubling incident occurred where an actor, forgetting about the shoot, bit Madhuri's lip. Notably, Madhuri played the heroine to both him and his son. 3/6 Vinod Khanna entered the industry during the prominence of actors like Sunil Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rishi Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor was known for his style and fashion, while Khanna, who began his acting career in 1968, initially gained fame for his villainous roles. He was also a disciple of Osho. Khanna's filmography includes movies like Mere Apne, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Achanak, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Qurbani. During the shooting of Dayavan, Khanna forcibly kissed actress Madhuri Dixit, leading to controversy. Despite his established status, Madhuri was relatively new at the time. They both starred in the popular song ' Aaj Phir Tum Pe Pyar Aaya Hai '. In a romantic scene, Khanna, infatuated with the 20-year-old Madhuri, lost control and continued kissing her for five minutes, resulting in her lip being cut and bleeding. Even when the director called for a cut, Khanna did not stop. Although he later apologised to Madhuri, who was in tears, the scene remained in the film. In 1997, Madhuri Dixit also played the heroine opposite Vinod Khanna's son, Akshay Khanna, in the film Mohabbat, which became a hit.

Bollywood's beloved star was just 20 when a bold scene left her in tears: Years later, she gracefully shared screen with same actor's son
Not many actresses in Bollywood can claim to have shared screen space as the leading lady opposite both a father and his son, but Madhuri Dixit, one of the industry's most beloved stars, quietly holds that rare distinction. From her early days as a teenager stepping into the world of cinema to becoming the face of blockbusters through the late '80s and '90s, Madhuri's journey has been both iconic and eventful. With films like Tezaab, Dil, Beta, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, and Dil Toh Pagal Hai, she ruled the screen with grace, energy, and unmatched charisma. But behind the glittering career is also a lesser-known anecdote from her early film years, a moment that resurfaced in recent memory and left fans both surprised and concerned. A Scene That Went Too Far In 1988, Madhuri appeared in Dayavan, a film directed by Feroz Khan, starring opposite veteran actor Vinod Khanna. While the film went on to become known for its intense storyline and memorable soundtrack, one scene in particular drew attention, a romantic sequence that, according to reports, went beyond what was scripted. During the shoot, Madhuri, who was in her early twenties at the time, was said to have been visibly upset after a kiss scene reportedly continued beyond the director's cue, resulting in a minor on-set injury. Vinod Khanna later offered an apology, and despite Madhuri's discomfort and request to remove the scene, it remained in the final cut of the film. Live Events Years later, the scene still sparks discussions, not just for its controversial nature but as a reflection of how much the industry has evolved in respecting boundaries and ensuring safety on sets. From Veteran Actor to His Son Interestingly, Madhuri went on to star with Khanna's son, Akshaye Khanna, in Mohabbat (1997). The film marked a unique moment in Hindi cinema, where one actress had shared lead roles with two generations of a family, a testament to her enduring star power across eras. She had also appeared with Rishi Kapoor, another frequent co-star from the same generation as Vinod Khanna, in films like Yaarana and Prem Granth, though those did not match the success of her other major hits. Madhuri Dixit's grace, talent, and consistency ensured that any uncomfortable moments never defined her career. Instead, she remains celebrated for her dance, dialogue delivery, and screen presence that captivated audiences for decades. Inputs from TOI Economic Times WhatsApp channel )

Did you know THIS actress romanced both father and son on screen - and was once injured after actor got carried away during kiss scene?
Madhuri Dixit, a Bollywood icon, faced a troubling incident early in her career during the filming of 'Dayavan.' A romantic scene with Vinod Khanna went awry, resulting in an on-set injury when Khanna reportedly got carried away during a kissing scene. Despite the distress and her request to remove the scene, it remained in the film. Not many actresses in Bollywood can say they've romanced both a father and his son on screen — but Madhuri Dixit holds that rare distinction. While her career is filled with iconic films and unforgettable performances, one troubling incident from her early days in the industry recently resurfaced, shedding light on the darker side of stardom. Madhuri stepped into the film industry at just 17, making her debut with Aabodh. While her early work caught attention, it was her powerhouse performances in hits like Tezaab (1988), Dil (1990), Beta (1992), Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (1994), and Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997) that cemented her place as one of Bollywood's most iconic leading ladies. But behind the glitz, a disturbing moment once unfolded on set — during a scene, an actor reportedly forgot it was just a shoot and ended up biting Madhuri's lip. What's more, she later went on to play the romantic lead opposite both him and his son. Vinod Khanna made his entry into Bollywood during a time when stars like Sunil Dutt , Amitabh Bachchan, and Rishi Kapoor ruled the screen. While Rishi Kapoor was celebrated for his flair and fashion, Khanna carved a niche with his intense presence—starting out with villainous roles in the late 1960s. In the scene, Khanna reportedly got carried away and continued kissing her well beyond the director's cue to stop, causing an on-set injury—Madhuri's lip was cut and began to bleed. Though Khanna later apologised to her, the incident left her in tears. Despite the distressing moment, the scene was retained in the final cut of the film. Despite her request to director Feroz Khan to remove the controversial kissing scene with Vinod in Dayavan, he declined. A legal notice followed, but the scene was retained after a payment of Rs 1 crore. Madhuri also worked with Rishi Kapoor in Sahiban, Yarana, and Prem Granth—all of which underperformed, with Prem Granth being the only notable one. Anupam Kher recalls shutting down Aamir Khan on Dil He Ke Manta Nahin sets ‘with an English phrase': ‘He complained to Mahesh Bhatt'
Anupam Kher and Aamir Khan have most famously worked in three films — Indra Kumar's Dil (1990), Yash Chopra's Parampara (1993), and Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (1991). At the time of filming the Mahesh Bhatt directorial, Aamir was on the cusp of becoming a superstar, having already delivered hits like Mansoor Khan's Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and Dil. Kher feels that's probably why Aamir had a disagreement with him on the sets of Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, while filming the climax. 'In the climax of Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, the father tells his daughter to run away from the wedding. The moment was very exaggerated,' recalled Kher, who played Seth Dharamchand, father to the bride, played by Pooja Bhatt. 'I was fully ready to portray it, but Aamir Khan complained to Mahesh Bhatt saab about my interpretation. He found it wrong and different. Bhatt saab added fuel to the matter and told me about Aamir's comment. I used an English phrase for Aamir Khan to shut him down,' added Kher, who wanted to remind Aamir he's a gold medallist from the National School of Drama, unlike Aamir who isn't a trained actor. 'Aamir was upset with me throughout the film. He was at that stage of becoming Aamir Khan, which he wanted to become. All my love for him,' said Kher. Aamir gained more popularity right after Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin with Mansoor's 1994 cult college caper Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar the following year. Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin marked the first time Aamir worked with Mahesh Bhatt. They followed it up with the 1993 romantic comedy Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. Meanwhile, Bhatt gave Kher his big break in Bollywood with his 1984 relationship drama Saaransh. Post that, they collaborated for Janam (1985), Kaash (1987), Thikana (1987), Kabzaa (1988), Daddy (1989), Awaargi (1990), Gumrah (1993), Tadipaar (1993), Papa Kahte Hain (1996), and Chaahat (1996). In a new, exclusive interview with SCREEN, Kher claimed that seasoned actors like him and Neena Gupta can perform even on their feet because of their education at NSD and experience in theatre. 'Without realizing, we've worked like theatre in this film (Metro… In Dino). Even in the case of Shiv Shastri Balboa, we did that. That film can be adapted into a very good play. So that's the advantage of being experienced, educated actors. We can incorporate our experiences into these films which we probably can't in others,' said Kher. Kher also plays a supporting role in the movie.
