Dil Raju shares vision and confidence ahead of ‘Thammudu' release
After scoring a Sankranthi blockbuster with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, renowned producer Dil Raju is set to bring Thammudu to theatres on July 4, under the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. The film, starring Nithiin and directed by Sriram Venu, also features Laya, Varsha Bollamma, and Saptami Gowda in key roles. Ahead of the release, Dil Raju opened up in a candid interaction with the press. Calling Thammudu an 'action-driven emotional drama,' Raju revealed that the film unfolds mostly over one intense day, with 5-6 action sequences, two of which earned it an 'A' certificate due to their violent nature. 'This film is made for the theatrical experience. We didn't cut scenes just for a 'U/A',' he asserted. Raju praised director Sriram Venu, highlighting their long-standing collaboration since Arya. 'I work with people I connect with—not just for money but for trust and creative wavelength,' he said, adding that directors like Anil Ravipudi and Srikanth Addala also share this bond with him. The film, shot over 150 days, was predominantly filmed in forest locations, with a strong focus on sound design by Ajaneesh. Raju confirmed that Netflix has already acquired the film after previewing it. On piracy, Raju stressed tighter industry measures: 'We've already had four arrests. Pirated prints may fetch ₹80K to ₹1 lakh overseas, but they cost us crores.' He also touched upon negative campaigns and reviewer impact, urging critics to consider the producer's effort. 'People say Dil Raju has attitude when I speak out—but it's about survival,' he added. Raju also spoke about nurturing new talent through Dil Raju Dreams, which received over 12,000 applications, and outlined his ambitious plans for upcoming films in 2025–2027, including collaborations with Anil Ravipudi, Hanif Adani, and debut directors. With confidence in its content and execution, Thammudu is poised to make a strong impact this weekend.

Producer Dil Raju launches online platform for film aspirants
Dil Raju, one of Telugu cinema's prominent film producers, launched the online platform Dil Raju Dreams, on Saturday in Hyderabad. The platform is designed to function as a bridge that connects aspiring directors, producers, actors and technicians with industry professionals. The website — — was launched by music composer Devi Sri Prasad and actor Vijay Deverakonda, who recalled their early years in the film industry. Speaking during the launch event, Dil Raju stated that the idea came about two years ago, recognising the challenges faced by talented individuals who lack contacts or access to the right avenues in the industry. 'I have also met people who are keen on producing films and register their names with the film chamber, but are unsure of how much to spend on a film, and how to take it to distributors and exhibitors. This platform can help new artistes and producers on how to go about realising their dreams.' Dil Raju stated that a team of professionals will vet the applications and contact aspirants for the next step. He stated that through his production house, Sri Venkateswara Creations, backed by three decades of experience in film distribution and production, has been producing big budget films. An offshoot of this was Dil Raju Productions, aimed to encourage new directors. Actor Venu Yeldandi turned director with Balagam and the Telangana family drama made with a modest budget went on to be a critical and commercial success. Dil Raju stated that ever since, his family and associates have shown keen interest in encouraging new talent, and that this website is a step in that direction. Recently, Dil Raju also joined hands with Quantum AI Global to launch Lorven AI Studio. According to a statement from the company, artificial intelligence tools will be used to enhance every stage of the creative process, from script development and pre-visualisation to production design, post-production, and audience engagement. Raju revealed that AI is being used for the pre-production work of one of his next productions, Rowdy Janardhan, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Ravi Kiran Kola.

Vijay Deverakonda recollects getting picked from 16k applicants for Sekhar Kammula film: ‘Gave me a reason to wake up'
Actor Vijay Deverakonda spoke about his beginnings in the film industry at the launch of Dil Raju Dreams in Hyderabad on Saturday. The actor recollected getting picked for Sekhar Kammula's Life is Beautiful from 16,000 applicants and how the film changed his life. Vijay Deverakonda debuted in the film industry with the 2011 film Nuvvila. Vijay spoke on stage about how he was desparate to get some footing in the film industry when he had auditioned for Kammula's film and said, 'I remember in 2011 or 2012, I made a habit of opening the Idlebrain website to check if there were casting calls. Social media was not as prevalent as it is now. I vividly remember seeing that Sekhar Kammula is casting for a film called Life is Beautiful. When he made Happy Days (2007), I was still in the intermediate or first year of my degree. I was not looking to be an actor yet. By the time I saw this casting call, I had completed my degree and had been trying for a year to get into films.' The actor said that he still remembers how he felt when he had to wait for months to know if he landed the role or not, 'I still remember how I felt while applying and auditioning; it took me six months to get the role. The worry I felt then gave me a reason to wake up every morning; it felt fulfilling. It was better than having no options. They had received 16,000 applications for the film. Twelve of us, including me and Naveen Polishetty, were selected. That movie, in a small way, played a big role in our lives.' After five years, when one of you talks about this on the stage like I am today, I will have a wide smile on my face and will be very happy.' Vijay debuted in the film industry in 2011 with Nuvvila. His second film, Life Is Beautiful, was released in 2012. He was most recently seen in The Family Star and Kalki 2898 AD. He will soon star in Kingdom and a yet-to-be-titled film by Rahul Sankrithyan.
