DCS: Dimensity 9500 will launch one day before Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite

Qualcomm already confirmed it plans to host the annual Snapdragon Summit from September 23 -25, where we'll see the announcement of its Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. But arch-rival MediaTek may one-up Qualcomm by unveiling its Dimensity 9500 flagship chipset a day earlier on September 22. The latest information comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who holds a solid track record. The vivo X300 Pro and Oppo Find X9 Pro are expected to be the first devices armed with the Dimensity 9500 chip. MediaTek's upcoming flagship chip will be fabbed on TSMC's N3P node (3nm) and is expected to feature an eight-core CPU using ARM's latest Cortex-X9 design. A Geekbench listing from earlier this year revealed the CPU will feature a Travis X930 main core clocked @3.23 GHz, 3x Alto cores running @3.03 GHz and 4x Gelas cores ticking @2.23 GHz. The CPU will be joined by a more efficient Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU, which is reportedly clocked at 1GHz and able to run ray tracing games at over 100fps. The new chip will also feature a boosted NPU rated at 100 TOPS. Source (in Chinese)

Dimensity 9500 GPU rumored to improve efficiency by over 40%, deliver 100fps ray tracing

Back in April, we heard that the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9500 will have an Immortalis-Drage GPU with reduced power consumption and improved ray tracing. As we get closer to the launch, leakster Ice Universe has some details to share. The GPU will reportedly improve energy efficiency by 'over 40% compared to the previous generation'. In addition to the GPU – which may be marketed as a Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 and may be clocked at 1.0GHz – there will be an all-big core CPU with 1x Cortex-X930 (Travis) core at 3.23GHz, 3x Alto cores at 3.03GHz and 4x Gelas cores at 2.23GHz. Peak performance of the GPU has also gone up, especially in ray tracing tasks – there the increase is a whopping 40%. According to Ice, this will allow the GPU to run ray tracing games at 100fps or above. The MediaTek flagship chip is expected to be unveiled before the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, meaning before late September. After that, we will see a surge in new flagship phone announcements. By the way, PC game emulation on ARM Mali GPUs recently got a major improvement, which will be interesting to see running on the more powerful Dimensity 9500. This GPU will be used in other chipsets, of course, but it will be interesting to see which ones – Samsung may or may not ditch AMD, while Google may be switching to an Imagination GPU for the Tensor G5. Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra certification confirms its battery size and charging power

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has just been certified by SGS Fimko, and this process has confirmed its battery capacity and charging capabilities. The tablet will have an 11,600 mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging. Compared to its predecessor from last year, that's a tiny 400 mAh increase in battery size, while the charging speed has remained the same. This certification hasn't revealed any other specs. Based on a Geekbench listing, the Tab S11 Ultra will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset (even though it will most likely launch after the Dimensity 9500 has become official), paired with 12GB of RAM. It will run Android 16 from day one, undoubtedly with Samsung's One UI 8 on top. Via

Oppo Find X9 Pro specs leak, it will have a huge battery

The Oppo Find X9 Pro is now rumored to sport a gigantic battery, with support for 50W wireless charging. The capacity itself may not have been finalized yet, but it will be at least 7,000 mAh, and apparently could go as high as 7,500 mAh. The phone will have a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED flat screen with narrow bezels on all sides. On the rear, the camera island will be in the top left corner. This will resemble the island in the Reno14 series, but will look more high-end. Speaking of cameras, the handset will sport a 200 MP periscope telephoto, using Samsung's 1/1.56-inch type ISOCELL HP5 sensor. Oppo Find X8 Pro The Find X9 Pro also gets an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, as well as IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It will be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 SoC, which is likely to be unveiled in September. Source (in Chinese) | Via

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 beats the Dimensity 9500 in CPU clock speed

Yesterday we heard that MediaTek's upcoming Dimensity 9500 SoC's CPU would go past the 4 GHz threshold for the first time in the company's history, and today we have news about its main competitor. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, due to be unveiled in late September, is now rumored to hit 4.6 GHz for its regular model, and a whopping 4.74 GHz in the "for Galaxy" higher-bin iteration that Samsung will be using in at least some of the Galaxy S26 devices next year. The SoC's GPU is rumored to be clocked at up to 1.2 GHz, and its AnTuTu score, even in the tamer, generally available iteration (not the Samsung special), is rumored to be over 4 million. Qualcomm will keep using its custom Oryon cores in the second generation of the Elite, and the SoC will be made on TSMC's N3p 3nm process. The CPU will have two Prime cores and six Performance cores, and the GPU will be marketed as the Adreno 840. Source 1 (in Chinese) | Source 2 | Via
