Maria Grazia Chiuri's Most Iconic Moments at Dior
When Maria Grazia Chiuri ascended to the helm of Christian Dior in 2016, she brought with her a reverence for tailoring, a romantic slant, a respect for the house's past, and her signature feminist fire. The first woman to lead the French fashion house since it was founded in 1946, she revolutionized the Dior woman with wearable yet interesting clothes made for an array of occasions and generations. Throughout her time as creative director, Chiuri embraced the house codes with flair, softening the sculptural characteristics of Monsieur Dior's original 'New Look' throughout both ready-to-wear and couture collections. She fleshed out the tailoring aspects and embraced unique aspects of the house's DNA, like Dior's connection with ballet and devotion to tarot cards (Monsieur Dior designed costumes for the ballet and had a personal affinity for tarot cards). Not to mention, Chiuri's released accessories that ascended to cult-favorite status—remember the J'adior kitten heels?—and handbags like the Book tote, whose massive sales fueled the business side of the legacy brand. Over the last decade, Chiuri also staged theatrical, imaginative runway shows in Paris and abroad. She's known for embracing the heritage of each place she travels, be it Morocco or Mexico City, to stage her larger-than-life resort and pre-fall shows, employing local artisans and feminist creatives to add to the Dior dialogue. In addition to immaculately constructed clothing, her Paris shows often featured the unique work of artists, choreographers, and performers. On the red carpet, Dior ambassadors, from Jennifer Lawrence to Charlize Theron to Natalie Portman, bolstered the brand's iconography on a global platform. Dior's Latest Beauty Ambassador Has Been Revealed
Yesterday, Dior Beauty took to Instagram to tease an exciting announcement. The post in question featured the silhouette of a woman stitched together with fast moving snippets of film. You could see a perfectly glossed lip here and a flick of shiny hair there, but blink and you'd miss it. And the caption didn't give much away either. 'Lights, camera, action...? Something iconic is coming. Are you ready to glow up? Stay tuned' - it said. Trust eagle-eyed beauty fans to recognise the shadowy figure from the subtle clues, though. 'Is that my crush?...I know that voice!' wrote one, while another typed, 'Could this be Jenna Ortega?' And today, the answer was revealed: Jenna Ortega is Dior's latest beauty ambassador. Ortega has officially been welcomed into the (impossibly chic) Dior family - Anya Taylor-Joy and Jisoo are also ambassadors. The star has made a name for herself as a modern day 'it' girl thanks to her stints in Beetlejuice , and as the iconic Wednesday Addams in Netflix's viral Wednesday . Fans have long suspected a collaboration with a beauty brand may be on the horizon - Ortega's penchant for soft, gothic glamour is no doubt what caught the eye of Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup. 'Jenna Ortega embodies the bold elegance of the House. It is a tailor-made role for this rising star who, through her values and her personality, is already inspiring an entire generation,' Phillips says. 'The House of Dior symbolises audacity, elegance, and timelessness, and being part of it is both incredibly exciting and surreal,' Ortega says of her ambassadorship. The star is currently gracing the red carpet of Cannes clad head-to-toe in Dior. But it was her May 5th appearance at The Met Gala that turned heads. Created by make-up artist Melanie Inglessis, the make-up stayed true to her signature style. Orterga's eyes were smudged with a blend of charcoal greys and metallic silvers, her skin sculpted to perfection and her lips boldly lined. Her make-up artist, Melanie Inglessis, reveals the products behind her look below: 1. Dior Forever Skin Perfect Multi-Use Foundation Stick Price: £48 Scribble on and blend out, Dior's iconic foundation stick makes light of perfecting skin for a lit-from-within radiance worthy of the red carpet. Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson Live It Up at Dior Beauty Party in Cannes
CANNES, France — Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson were living it up at the Dior Beauty party following the premiere of their film 'Die My Love.' The two costars headed to the Club Albane rooftop, which offered an expansive view over all the yachts parked in the Mediterranean, after receiving a six-minute standing ovation for their work in Lynne Ramsay's latest film. More from WWD Jennifer Lawrence and Dior Rewrite Fashion History on the 2025 Cannes Red Carpet in Fan-inspired Gown for 'Die, My Love' with Robert Pattinson Pedro Pascal's Dior Moment Meets Sister Lux Pascal's Golden Goddess Georges Chakra Dress for 'Eddington' Premiere on Cannes Film Festival 2025 Red Carpet Amal Clooney Continues Her Archival Streak in Sweetheart Galliano for Dior Gown With Bono at Cannes Film Festival 2025 'It's the first time I've seen it,' said Pattinson. 'It was very exciting. I loved it.' He added that he has been enjoying the festival atmosphere. 'It's really, really good stuff. It's a really good energy.' Pattinson also posed for photos with Olympic gold medalist and captain of the French national rugby team Antoine Dupont. Lawrence responded in her signature self-deprecating style. 'I think it went well, but you never know,' she said of the film's reception. Clad in a black Dior gown by Maria Grazia Chiuri, Lawrence had made a quick change from her red carpet look of a silk taffeta off-white dress inspired by a 1949 Dior Poulenc archival piece. As for her red-carpet prep? 'Fear, pure fear,' she joked. The duo arrived at the rooftop party sponsored by Madame Figaro after midnight, just as French singer and actor Alex Lutz was performing poolside. On a personal note, Natalie Portman shared that she's currently in a comfort film phase. 'I like comedy, mainly comedy, and romantic comedies also,' she said. Her current go-to films? Reese Witherspoon's 1999 dark comedy 'Election,' and the Robin Williams classic 'Mrs. Doubtfire,' the Oscar winner revealed. This year's Cannes Film Festival master of ceremonies Laurent Lafitte, who is hosting both the official opening and closing events, hit the red carpet in a sharp tux. He's also appearing in three films in this year's selection. 'I've met good people and it's been a joy, that's it,' he said of the experience. 'In terms of elegance, I'm master of ceremonies and have three films in the selection, which has made triple the great celebrations. It's a big year but it's a good year.' Lafitte emphasized the importance of Cannes in honoring all types of cinema, and diplomatically avoided naming a favorite genre. 'I really like all cinema, and it's not a fake answer. I'm interested in all forms and don't have a predilection to a genre. I just really like cinema.' Rising French star Raphaël Quenard made a memorable entrance, hamming it up confidently in his shades. When asked about the 'sunglasses at night' look, the young César winner quipped: 'Because it hides [me] a bit — come see what the ingredients are,' he joked. 'It's fun.' Pattinson made his grand entrance to the party just before the clock struck 1 a.m. — a completely normal start time by Cannes standards — which seemed appropriate as the festivities stretched into the early morning. Headed to Summer Bay: Aussie actor and influencer Maddison Brown joins the cast of Home and Away
She's starred alongside Nicole Kidman, acted on American drama Dynasty and been a brand ambassador for luxury labels like Miu Miu, Tiffany & Co and Dior Beauty. But get ready to see Aussie actor and influencer Maddison Brown in a whole new light, as she takes on a role in popular Aussie soap, Home And Away The 28-year-old social media star, who boasts almost a million followers across her accounts (she recently launched a successful beauty brand ) is headed to Summer Bay in early June playing Jo Langham, a woman with connections to someone already living in the Bay. 'It's a very fractured, complicated relationship,' says Brown, speaking to us from Sydney. 'There's a lot of drama to come as the storyline evolves and I'm excited for fans to get to know Jo and her backstory. 'It's Home And Away, and Summer Bay wouldn't be Summer Bay without high drama and conflict, so it's going to be super exciting.' For Brown, scoring a role on the long-running series is something of a dream come true having grown up watching and enjoying the show. 'It was my childhood dream to be on Home And Away — it was the be all and end all,' she says. 'I acted as a child, and whenever teenagers from the acting company I was with as a five-year-old would be cast on the show, playing a student at Summer Bay High or something like that, even if they only had one line, I would think they were Meryl Streep and the biggest celebrity ever! 'It was a big part of my childhood, and a big part of my upbringing, so this feels really full circle.' Brown comes to the show with a stacked CV, having previously worked on a number of high-profile film and television projects. Her breakthrough came via the film Strangerland, in which she played Lily, the daughter of Nicole Kidman and Joseph Fiennes' characters. A role in The Kettering Incident followed (she played a younger version of Elizabeth Debicki's character), before Brown, who also has a successful international modelling career, scored her first major role stateside, as Kirby Anders in the remake of the popular US drama series, Dynasty. With many Aussie actors beginning their careers in Summer Bay before heading overseas, Brown's career trajectory feels back to front — but she wouldn't have it any other way. 'Yeah, I know. It's funny,' she concedes. 'But I am really happy to be back in Australia.' A return home was always on the cards for Brown, who grew up in Sydney but moved to the US for her modelling career as a teen. She launched her skincare brand, Outside Beauty & Skincare alongside her sister, Allyson, 2½ years ago and, as the company grew, so too her desire to head home after years overseas. 'Being in LA, after the (writers') strikes, I just felt like I was ready to spend some time in Australia,' she says. 'The business has really been growing exponentially, so we really needed another person on the ground. 'Then, a little after I moved, the Home And Away opportunity came up, and it was perfect — it meant I got to be in the same place for a while, for the business and for work.' And she's scored at least one new fan: after using her skin care on set, Brown's ex-co-star, Lynne McGranger, who has since left the show after a record run playing Irene, is a convert! 'One of the make-up girls was like 'Oh Lynne, do you want to try it?' and she was like 'Absolutely!',' Brown says. 'She loved it!'
