Help AG Deepens Partnership With F5

Help AG, the cybersecurity arm of e& enterprise, has inked a strategic partnership agreement to be the first Managed Services Provider (MSP) partner for F5 in the Middle East region. Building on a long-standing partnership with F5, Help AG has launched its next-generation Managed App and API Protection Service based on the F5 Distributed Cloud Platform. This is an always-on, cloud-delivered managed service for the AI era, designed to secure modern digital infrastructure across public, private, edge, and hybrid cloud environments. Today's threat landscape is more complex, with malicious actors being able to access a broader attack surface as enterprises rapidly shift towards API-driven architectures, edge computing, and cloud-native applications. From automated bot attacks and API abuse to sophisticated Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attempts, the pressure on security teams has never been greater. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that many enterprises lack the knowledge and tools to protect themselves against these types of attacks Help AG's Managed App and Application Protection service directly addresses these evolving challenges by providing multi-layered protection as a managed, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering. Backed by F5's globally recognised F5 Distributed Cloud Services and operated 24×7 by Help AG's expert SOC team, the new service enables clients to simplify operations, ensure compliance, and respond to threats in real time. Leveraging Help AG's local expertise and managed service leadership, businesses can now deploy resilient, compliant, and cost-efficient application protection. Stephan Berner, Chief Executive Officer of Help AG, said: 'This is a strategic leap forward for enterprise security. Our collaboration with F5 reflects our shared vision of securing every application, API, and digital interaction, at scale. With this new service, we are providing regional organisations with enterprise-grade security that is proactive, cost-effective, and built for the cloud-first era.' The solution provides unified protection that includes Web Application Firewall (WAF), advanced bot mitigation, API discovery and security, plus DDoS defence; all accessible through a centralised SaaS-based management console that ensures full visibility and control. Clients benefit from flexible deployment models across regional and customer edge locations, hybrid setups, and full support and continuous tuning by Help AG's expert teams. Mustapha Hlil, Director of Channel Sales for the Middle East, Türkiye and Africa at F5, commented: 'As cyber threats become more sophisticated and widespread, the need for always-on, adaptable security has become mission-critical. Help AG's security expertise, managed services leadership and state-of-the-art SOC with 24×7 support – combined with the F5 Distributed Cloud platform – provides a powerful solution for customers navigating complex digital transformation journeys. It will also significantly help enterprises lacking the expertise to deploy and manage security solutions.' The launch marks a new chapter in the Help AG and F5 partnership, further strengthening their joint commitment to securing the region's digital future and helping organisations build trust in every digital interaction. 0 0

After brief X outage, Musk says refocusing on businesses

WASHINGTON - Social media platform X was hit by a two-hour outage on Saturday, prompting owner Elon Musk to say he needs to spend more time focusing on his companies. His statement echoed comments earlier this month suggesting he would reduce his role in US President Donald Trump's administration. The world's richest person has an extraordinarily full plate as owner/CEO of X, xAI (developer of the AI-powered chatbot Grok), electric-car maker Tesla and rocket builder SpaceX -- not to mention his recent polarising efforts to help Trump slash the size of the US federal government. As backlash to those cuts grew and Tesla share prices slipped, Musk began drawing away from the government role, confirming last week that he was down to one or two days a week at the so-called "Department of Government Efficiency." Still, the man who contributed more than $235-million to Trump's election campaign remains a close advisor to the US president, attending an Oval Office meeting with the South African president on Wednesday. After the X outage on Saturday, Musk suggested that he may have been away from his companies for too long. "As evidenced by the X uptime issues this week, major operational improvements need to be made," he said. "The failover redundancy should have worked, but did not." X had largely returned to normal service by 3pm Saturday. The SITE Intelligence Group reported that hacker-activist group DieNet had claimed responsibility for the outage. DieNet, it said, had called the attack a "test" of its so-called Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) capabilities -- flooding the system with online traffic to make it inaccessible to legitimate users.

Nadiad youth arrested for cyber terrorism, targeted 50+ govt sites

Ahmedabad: Gujarat ATS on Monday arrested an 18-year-old youth, Jasim Shahnawaz Ansari , from Nadiad for his alleged involvement in cyber terrorism . ATS officials say investigations revealed that Ansari intensified attacks after India's Operation Sindoor was launched in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack. According to ATS officers, Ansari and a few other juveniles allegedly carried out cyber attacks on more than 50 Indian govt websites between April and May 2025. These included websites related to defence, finance, aviation, urban development, and several state govts. The arrest followed intelligence inputs received by the Gujarat ATS during surveillance operations. As per ATS officials, Ansari and his associates had created a Telegram group named AnonSec, where they discussed and executed DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks. These attacks aimed to bring down websites by overwhelming them with traffic. The ATS found that Ansari used online platforms like YouTube to learn Python programming, and downloaded cyber-attack tools from GitHub. These tools were used through apps like Termux and Pydroid to execute the DDoS attacks . "He later verified the success of the attacks using and shared screenshots in the AnonSec group along with anti-India messages such as 'Hi, India we just took down your shield and servers.' Ansari, along with like-minded juveniles, launched cyberattacks using various handles and changed group names frequently. They spread anti-national propaganda by posting about successful attacks," said a release from the ATS. The investigation also revealed that Ansari intensified attacks after India's 'Operation Sindoor' was launched in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror incident. On May 7, 2025, 20 govt websites were targeted and messages like "India may have started it, but we will be the ones to finish it" were posted on their group, said ATS officers. An ATS officer said that Ansari has failed in class-12 science recently and another juvenile, aged 17, is in class-12. ATS officials began investigating whether the accused acted independently or were influenced by foreign entities. Further examination of the tools, software, and digital links is ongoing. ATS officers are trying to get digital footprints in the case. Gujarat ATS registered an FIR under Sections 43 and 66F for the charges of the Information Technology Act for cyber terrorism.

Staggering number of cyber attacks fought off by Met Office last year revealed as hackers ‘swarm it on daily basis'

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE Met Office was one of six Government agencies hit by 15million cyber attacks last year. Around 40,000 threats a day were fought off by the public bodies in 2024, The Sun on Sunday can reveal. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up The Met Office blocked more than five million phishing emails, nearly double 2023's total. The UK Atomic Energy Authority fended off 1.67million spam and malware messages. There were 223,589 malicious emails to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, with another 1,111 at the Government Legal Department. The Office for National Statistics, which retains hack records for only 90 days, blocked 485,908 emails from November to February — 5,400 a day. The ONS also faced 15 Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, where a website or inbox is flooded with traffic. But the DVLA faced an avalanche, with 7.1million attempted DDoS hits. Malicious emails to the Cardiff-based agency also nearly tripled from 54,105 in 2023 to 153,189. Bodies including the MoD, Home Office, HMRC and Cabinet Office refused to release data under Freedom of Information laws — saying it may hamper efforts to fight cyber crime. It comes as several retail giants, including M&S, have been paralysed by cyber attacks. Internet security expert Graham Cluley said: 'Britain's public sector isn't just under attack — it's being swarmed digitally on a daily basis.' The National Cyber Security Centre said it provides advice and guidance for government partners, helping 'bolster the cyber resilience of the public sector'.
