Four jockeys involved in nasty fall at Ipswich
A horror race fall at Ipswich on Thursday had those watching holding their breath, but early reports from on track indicate the riders are OK.
All jockeys involved were conscious while receiving treatment.
The fall happened approaching the 100m in the TAB Maiden Plate when the leader, the $1.50 favourite Fast Fun, faultered and fell with Nikita Beriman in the saddle.
Three horses following were unable to avoid the fallen horse.
Two more coming to grief while the third horse parted company with the rider.
Fast Fun had to be euthanised while Zouchase, Haz Styles and Shaque D'amour appeared to have avoided serious injury and were taken back to the tie up stalls for further veterinary assessment.
Beriman and Mark Du Plessis were both taken to hospital for further assessment while Tiffani Brooker and Emily Lang were stood down from their remaining rides.
From a betting perspective, placings stood as is, with Divine Source ($7) declared the winner with just three other finishers.
