RPF organises motorcycle rally in Thiruvananthapuram
As part of the nationwide 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Thiruvananthapuram Division, organised a motorcycle rally on Thursday (August 14). Divyakant Chandrakar, Divisional Railway Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division, flagged off the rally in the morning from DRM's Office in the presence of Muhammed Haneef, divisional security commissioner, RPF Thiruvananthapuram Division. The rally featured over 30 RPF personnel riding tricolour flag adorned motorcycles, passing through major locations in Thiruvananthapuram city, spreading the message of unity, pride, and patriotism. Lipin Raj M.P., senior divisional personnel officer, along with other divisional officers, supervisors and staff participated in the flag-off ceremony. This initiative has been organised to inspire every citizen to participate actively in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme, fostering the spirit of national pride ahead of the 79th Independence Day celebrations.

On the occasion of 79th Independence Day celebrations, Divyakant Chandrakar, Divisional Railway Manager, Southern Railway, will hoist the National Flag and take the salute at the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Parade at 09.15 a.m. on Friday.

Divyakant Chandrakar takes charge as DRM of Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division
Divyakant Chandrakar has assumed charge as the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Thiruvananthapuram Division, Southern Railway, on Wednesday. He succeeds Dr. Manish Thaplyal, IRSME, who has successfully completed his tenure. Mr. Chandrakar is a graduate in Civil Engineering from NIT Raipur and belongs to the 1996 UPSC batch of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE). He began his career in Indian Railways in January 1998 as an Assistant Divisional Engineer in Solapur Division and has since held several key positions, including general administrative roles such as Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer, Central Railway. He brings with him a wealth of experience and a strong record of service. He received the prestigious Railway Board Award for developing high-speed end unloading rolled rakes, which enhanced the efficiency of transporting and unloading 260-metre-long rails from Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL for track renewal works. He also led the design and development of special diamond crossings, which have been introduced in the Nagpur and Bhusawal Divisions. In his previous posting as Chief Engineer, Metropolitan Transport Project (MTP), Mumbai, Mr. Chandrakar played a pivotal role in several major infrastructure projects. These include the development of Kalyan and Panvel coaching terminals, as well as the planning and execution of the work of 5th and 6th lines between Mumbai CSMT and Parel, said a statement from the Southern Railway.
